This is a cruise hotel and we were a party of independent travellers, so not the target customers. But even coming off a cruise ship it didn't seem like it would be a wonderful place to stay. The good: it's an efficient place buzzing with activity, well located and with mostly good dedicated staff. It is a big lodge with many buildings and the layout is strange - few rooms seem to face the river and view of the next mountain range. Instead our block directly faced one opposite. Landscaping choices make it necessary to walk around flower beds, other buildings and complexes. The bad: very poorly soundproofed - you hear your neighbors arriving, leaving, phone calls, the lot. Since large groups are involved this is disruptive. Various things needed fixing in the room - and were promptly attended to by maintenance - but for example the leaking cistern being silenced revealed that another neighbouring cistern also had the exact same problem. Catering options in the lodge - Lynx Pizzas looked OK and had a good bar and great bartender. King Salmon, the 'signature' restaurant, was a waste of money, with small portions, big prices and very generic fare. There are much better eating options just over the road.
