Meedhupparu Hotels with Wi-Fi

Recently returned from a 14 night stay (Etihad from Heathrow and seaplane transfer) - our first visit to the Maldives. A fantastic, relaxed holiday. Lots of food choices, friendly staff and beautiful beaches with fantastic snorkelling opportunities - we saw sharks, rays, a turtle and literally thousands of fish! We enjoyed the paddle boarding and kayaking that can be done free for 1 hour per day. The instructions for first time paddle boarders could have been better but a quick look at you tube proved helpful!! Special thanks to sous chef Gayan Mapalagama. My partner is coeliac and requires a gluten free diet. Gayan would take her through the food options (that were already well labelled), offered to cook her a pizza or pasta on request and then baked her cakes which he bought to our table every day. Some minor points for improvement:- Beach towels are changed daily but on a couple of occasions the old ones were taken before new ones arrived so we had to collect them. Although sun loungers are numbered we did have other people use ours on a couple of occasions as they wanted to keep their own at their villa and use ours by the beach. A reminder during the welcome meeting that each villa is allocated sun loungers would be helpful. In any future refurbishment I would like to see the toilet enclosed in a cubicle or perhaps add sliding doors to the outside shower. All villas are semi detached so in the morning you can hear your neighbour in the bathroom and they can hear you! Compared to other island’s Meedhupparu offers fantastic value and we are already thinking about when we will return!
