Location is in CBD, very near to shopping street and also Chinatown

Breakfast was very mediocre and not worth the price; you're better off eating out. However, the hotel's location is quite convenient for getting around and finding food, and check-in at the front desk was smooth.

I stayed at Ibis Budget Melbourne CBD recently. As the name suggests, it’s a budget hotel, so expectations should be modest. The biggest strength is definitely the location — right in the heart of the city, with easy access to trams, Flinders Street Station, and plenty of shops and restaurants. However, I did encounter some concerns with cleanliness and housekeeping. On one occasion, my linens and bedsheet had visible yellow stains that looked like old pee stains. I requested a replacement, but honestly, linens in that condition should already be disposed of. There were also two separate instances when my linens and towels were not replaced at all, which was disappointing. Service was generally okay, and staff were responsive when approached, but consistency in housekeeping needs attention. Overall, it’s fine if you’re after affordability and location, but improvements in cleanliness would make the stay much more comfortable.

The facilities are a bit old and the cleanliness is just so-so. Replenishments weren't timely. However, the location is incredibly convenient for transportation and dining. Everything is close by. For the price, the breakfast was decent.

A simple and compact hotel. It's close to the train station, and there are restaurants and fast food options nearby, which is convenient for late-night snacks. If you have high expectations, you might be disappointed as the photos don't quite match reality.

At first, they gave me the room at the corner and which had high frequency noise from air conditioning. The front desk staff was very nice, he helped me to change another room at once. Even that the room was smaller than the old one, but brighter, feel more comfortable and more quiet. I can’t imagine if I need to sleep in the old room for 6 night. This hotel is very convenience which place at the free tr zone in the city centre.

The surroundings are lovely and it's very convenient for transport, with a free tram right outside the door.

The room was a bit small and the facilities were outdated. Besides one bottle of shampoo and body wash, no other disposable amenities were provided. The room's cleanliness was mediocre, comparable to a no-star guesthouse in China. However, the location is excellent, which is why I extended my stay for another 4 nights.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearbyonly few minutes walk from the local area. When travelling in the CBD is free, it makes the location more important.

Absolutely brilliant location! Close to most places or a short walk away from the rest.  Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful on checking in.  Room was great - comfy bed, good view and no issues with noise like other reviews have stated.  Air conditioning didn’t work at first as the filter is in desperate need of a clean but otherwise no issues. For the location and the price, I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for an early morning flight, so the location was absolutely perfect, the room is compact, which is expected for the price. However, there was an unpleasant odour from the carpet, noticeably worse when the heater was on. Fine as a transit stay

The accommodation was terrible. Water from the shower flowed onto the carpet in the room, making the carpet smell awful.

recently stayed at ibis budget Melbourne CBD from May 12 to May 18. The location was very convenient, close to shops, restaurants, and public transport, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were friendly and helpful during my stay. The room was simple and clean, suitable for travelers looking for an affordable place in the CBD. Some areas could be improved, such as room space and soundproofing, but overall it was a comfortable and budget-friendly experience. I appreciate the hospitality and would consider staying again for a short trip to Melbourne
