Everything about this place says Motel, not 5 Star Hotel. Lack of housekeeping - our room was cleaned twice in 7 days and not well. We eventually got fed up and asked for clean towels. When we were at reception checking in, there were other guests complaining about their dirty rooms. Fifth restaurant - the breakfast buffet was terrible. There was no omelette bar or even a basic pancake machine. No option for included barista-made coffees either, which is a minimum at any “5 star” hotel. Strato restaurant - we booked this for a special occasion. There was zero recognition of this. They put us at a table beside the kitchen door and in a corner with no views despite a good corner table being empty the entire time we were there. We waited 30 mins each for 2 courses and we’re still eating 30 mins after the 2 hour allocation. The ambience was constantly disturbed by the kitchen yelling “service please!” Only upside was the extra bread and free mocktail they offered us, I assume due to the slow service. Slow lifts - we had to allocate an extra 15 mins to our departure whenever leaving the room. Poor service - as per already stated, the service was very poor if you compare it to any other 5 star hotel. It was average if you think you’re at a motel. Additionally, because they were training staff, service at the lobby bar was ridiculously slow. We waited 15 mins for them to serve 2 wines. Reception also ran out of vouchers (part of our package) and told us to come back later and say “we forgot to pick up some of our vouchers” rather than acknowledging their error. Location - we knew this going in but it is a long walk into the CBD and you need a Myki card because the nearest tram stop is outside the free zone. In summary: Avoid this place if you are looking for luxury. We booked this for a special occasion and were sorely disappointed. The only good thing is the views from some parts of the restaurants.

We chose the Miami because it was very close to the venue we were going to see a live show at. What a gem. Right from our arrival, staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We were given an upgrade that gave as a fabulous view of the city. Our room was large, bed very comfortable, bathroom well appointed (they even had shaving cream), couple of chairs to sit on and, one thing we love, mugs for tea or coffee. Everything was spotless. WiFi was good. There is parking on site at a fee. Some undercover but also spaces for those higher vehicles that can’t fit underneath. There is a guest kitchen which would be great for longer stays. We stayed on a Friday night and had no noise issues. Cafes, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance and a tram stop is just down the road. On our trips into town, we usually stay at a much more expensive hotel but from now on the Miami will be our go to property. Very reasonably priced, great staff and comfortable beds, what more could you ask for?

I am interstate for business on a regular basis and have stayed in many well rated accommodation venues however, I struggle to find anything to criticize at this hotel. The staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble, they do all the little things, over and above what I would expect to make you feel like a special guest. They all seemed to be ”hand-picked” to suit the service culture of the hotel. The quality and cleanliness of the facilities are A1. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. A small table & chairs, couch and huge TV were a welcome feature. The conference facilities worked well. Conference catering, breakfast room and intimate Bistro/cocktail bar offered quality food & drinks. My partner is disabled in a wheelchair and all his needs were well & truly met in a standard room. Only 1 suggestion - it would be great to have magnetic door stoppers installed so the door will stay open while moving through with the wheelchair or bags. Thank you Marriott Team, we will definitely be back :)

We were warmly greeted and served by front desk personnel Tina on 28-Nov-2023 evening. Everyone is equally helpful, even though it is a busy hotel with many travellers checking in and out. Hotel room is simple but the hotel location is great, right beside the Chinatown and the CBD area etc. You can walk to anywhere, K-Mart, plenty of restaurants and shops. Lovely breakfast spread enough to start our day well 🥰

pros: Good situation, Convenient transportation nearby. cons: Maybe cause of detergent or disinfectant of bed sets, I felt my skin was itchy that never happened the hotels I lived before. After I lay down in the bed for 20mins, the itchy feeling came. When I went out, no itchy feeling came. We three people lived in this hotel, I was the first person to feel that. lateron, other two felt like I was. Alo, one of staffs at the front desk is not professional, my room number is 339, I said three thirty nine, he didn't know; I said double three nine, he didn't get it ether and he said I said wrong number. These number expressions are common in the North America

Space is the first hostel of my trip and it’s set the bar pretty high! Staff are lovely, everywhere was always super clean, beds are comfy, towels are provided and you can even grab a fresh one every day if you wish. Location is great, would recommend the Queen Victoria Market for something to do and “pizza pizza pizza” was lush. There’s nothing “on” as such at the hostel but this didn’t bother us. The only thing that would be good is some extra fridges as they were packed full every day and it was hard to put your own food in anywhere. Would definitely come back.

Only stayed one night to work in quite and great for that. Apartment was spacious and had everything you need however it had an odd lay out . A coffee station near kitchen but mire in lounge then a weird desk that was used as a pots and oan cabinet closer to lounge as well . Huge amount of pots and pans but not ione knife. Just nit thought out from perspective if patron. Tga stret its situated on is amazing. The church opposite is special. Infact every building was old and architecturally beautiful.. great place to stay in autumn with the shedding leaves for effect.. it was quiet and was nice but decoecboring, drab, and oddly laud out. I like to feel a warmth and inviting energy when I enter a hotel this was just there to give you twhsy u need to stay away from home for a night in a 1 bedroom apartment in a picturesque street in stkilda....

Outstanding
JJINGThere are breakfast baskets such as bread and cereals. Fruits and wine from your own winery are welcome. The car is parked next to the child. Look carefully at the letter when you check in. It is a little far from the train. Hours, if you want to take the train at 10:30 am, it is recommended to go out before 8:30, because they will run into their morning peak. There are walking directions, and it is wonderful to make a circle at sunset.
GGuest UserWould I recommend Holiday Inn little Collins...yes I would...but there were a few negatives to our stay Location is excellent close to Sth Cross Station and the free tram network. Breakfast included is a bonus and the selection was great. Hot sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, toast, cereals, pastries and mini muffins as well as the milk, orange juice, tea and coffee (with barista made at a cost by the reception/bar located in the same area. Staff were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. On the negative side I must add that during our 4 night stay housekeeping came the first morning. After that nothing so our wet towels sat waiting for collection. When calling for clean towels I was directed to collect them from reception. The next day we encountered the same issue...after leaving the room most of the day we returned again to find housekeeping hadn't been. This time when I called reception they organized to send a crew up pretty quickly. I expect the main reason behind this was they were fully booked with Manchester united fans in for the weekends game but as a mum the occasional opportunity to actually have someone tidy and replace towels is a novelty that I take full advantage of so was disappointed in this part of our stay. Beds and linen were clean but again housekeeping let us down with the floors...carpet had definitely not been cleaned in a while ...our socks picked up various dark long hair and bark/dirt..gross. One last issue was the invoice received for our stay..all good and as expected however $50.75 more was actually taken out of my visa. Having to make another phone call to have this explained was ridiculous. It's a bond...totally understand and it's refundable after the room is checked BUT why not add a small note to the invoice explaining this and save the guest and your team time explaining the extra charge?? Overall it was a decent stay and I would recommend but the issues above need to be ironed out quickly.
GGuest UserThere is no kitchen. It is more like a domestic express hotel. The bed is more comfortable, but there is no washing machine and dryer. It is OK if you are a couple, but not recommended if you are traveling with a family.
GGuest UserHyatt Place Essendon Field is located a 10 minute drive from the airport, MEL. Alternatively, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle from the airport. Depending on traffic downtown or CBD, is only a 20-minute drive away. The hotel is a few minutes drive both restaurants and shopping if you want something else then the hotel kitchen or the attached gastro pub. There is a garden around the hotel, and plenty of parking spaces. The lobby area offers plenty of seating and both for eating and meetings. On the first floor is the is a good size gym with plenty of machines and weights. The rooms are a good size and well planned, working both for short and long stays. Overall, it is a nice hotel at a good location.
GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of Melbourne near the Spanish Quarter, Bourke Street Mall, and other shopping precincts. The staff are friendly and efficient at check-in. The rooms are good in size with modern amenities and comfortable beds. There is a kettle and small fridge. The bathroom has a bath with a shower, so if you have mobility issues, it's not for you. There is no rail to hold onto when getting in or out, which makes it dangerous, especially as it gets slippery. There is a pool and gyn which were modern and accessible. The room we had faced into the mezzanine of the hotel so you dont get any light from outside, which was strange. The room was very quiet and had a good air conditioner. Overall, we would stay here again, although the lack of being able to see outside wasn't ideal, and if you stayed for more than one night, it could be an issue.
GGuest UserNot recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy.
Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections.
Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment.
None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests.
FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building.
The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful.
In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross.
I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind.
The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.
Entrance to hotel difficult to find as no signage. Front desk staff did not say hello, handed over paper to sign without looking up or explaining what it was, we had to ask what the credit card requested was for, was there a hold deposit, had we not paid the room yet (staff asked us if we had paid for room) Not given any information as to where the lift was or the restaurant for breakfast. Room was very small for 2 beds, it’s a brand new hotel so nice and clean. Body wash in shower was empty and bathroom Basin area too small, shower was good. No signage for express checkout, front desk staff busy with one family, totally ignored the expanding group of people wanting to check out. We noticed a screen to the side that on inspection was the ability to self checkout and everyone else followed suit. Staff definately need more customer training. Overall as an Accor member very disappointed with this new hotel.
GGuest UserOur stay was OK in as much as the bed and bathroom were acceptable for the price. - when the price is $125 or so. The trick is while they advertise $125 a night, Friday and Saturday night the prices goes off the scale. So read your proposal, even if you're in a rush. There are lot better rooms around at around $200 or more. We stayed 4 nights and extended another - a Saturday. (Family matters nearby). The gentleman said $120 for the extra night but when I got my statement it was $189! It was then I realised I was charged that for Friday too. Re-educated in touch and go and not bothering with the receipt. Sure these prices are not exorbitant in this day an age - for a reasonable establishment. While in the room the basics were reasonable, the room had a toaster and microwave but no bread plates or cutlery, only small bowls. Asked at reception and was give some disposable cutlery and pasta bowls . Great for toast! Apparently people keep stealing them or breaking them. So charge them and have something reasonable for reasonable people! The door didn't latch either without a heft with your shoulder and then caught only by millimetres. The chain was on and the chairs in place, don't worry. The room was only serviced once during our stay after we asked. The garbage truck came at 4.00Am or so and emptied multiple skips just nearby (on the premises) with all the beeping and backing, hydraulic whining, and diesel roaring you'd probably accept at $120 odd dollars a night, but really? My partner was ready to walk in the first five minutes with her usual abuse of my miserliness. As you might have guessed, the pricing issue is what really gets up nose. The rest you probably expect and accept for a cheaper deal. But next time we're near Lilydale we may well pay $189 but we'll be looking for $189 value.
GGuest UserIt was the long weekend in Melbourne and we had to wait for quite a while to check in. Check in time was 3pm but we only managed get our room after waiting for about 1-1.5 hours at the lobby. It was nice that they offered champagne to all the guests waiting at the lobby though. They also had to give us another room (a bit of a downgrade from level 9 to level 8 facing different directions) as our room was not ready. The porter, Oscar, was very helpful and friendly. When we got to our room, there was an extra bed and he helped us move the bed out and everything back to where it supposed to be effectively. The room was clean but there were only 2 pillows (supposedly 4) on the bed. Called reception to get more pillows but got told that they will try to source some as they’re running low on pillow at the time :/ Kind of unbelievable for a 5-star hotel. I also later found out that the electric curtain in the bathroom was not working and the night light lamp was dying and flashing. There were no soft drinks or snacks at the minibar so if you want something simple to drink or eat at night, you’ll need to order room service + a delivery fee of $8. Overall, the location is fantastic, really close to the shops and restaurants we wanted to go. The hotel is quite basic for a 5 star hotel - there’s no coffee machine, hair straightener available for hire or firmer pillows for use. Having said that, the location really beats everything and I’ll probably book this again when I travel to Melbourne next time.
GGuest UserThe live situation of the accommodation is reasonable in Melbourne for such a price. The service at the front desk of the hotel is very good. The towel will be thoughtfully windy.
