The Best Western® Sysonby Knoll Hotel is the longest established family owned hotel in Melton Mowbray, owned by the same family since 1965, when it was purchased as a six bedroom house. Over the years, this has gradually developed into a 30 bedroom hotel. The original house now forms a small part of a square courtyard, with the bar, restaurant and conservatory overlooking the gardens. Our modern coffee lounge has been created with business and relaxation in mind, catch up on emails, hold informal business meetings or interviews or simply un-wind and take time to think.
On bank holiday check-in is only available between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Please note that on Bank Holidays there is no chef at the hotel. So there will be limited food available in the restaurant. Very swanky for a 3 star hotel. High quality food and drinks. Breakfast room needs a refresh in furniture. Nice gardens.

The hotel is lovely the staff are polite and chatty. The owner makes some lovely garden ornaments that are for sale and honey which is a nice touch.
Our evening meal was delicious, our breakfast was small but tasty. We stayed in the deluxe room, which was lovely but being deluxe it would have been nice for it to have included bubble bath shampoo etc there was a body wash, but you really want bubbles in the bath.
There was no dry rose wine only sweet they said the Zinfandel was dry but I could only buy a bottle it was Very sweet.
The staff knew we were on honeymoon and didn’t even offer a complimentary drink, which kind of let them down a bit.
That aside a lovely stay, but slightly over priced in my opinion.

We had the beautiful 4 poster bedroom which was huge! The only let down, was the shower. This was just a shower head, over a bath, which unfortunately was broken. Therefore we had to hold the shower as it did not stay up. Also, the water went cold. The bed and the room itself was great. I think the huge wardrobes were used for storage, as they were all locked, apart from one. The food was delicious, and the staff were great, assisting us with a balloons/ cake/champagne surprise! The breakfast was excellent. The best part of the stay!

Wonderful, friendly staff, lovely and clean, Hotel.
My room was excellent, very spacious with a lovely view.
The restaurant food was of good quality and fresh, the lady waitress was friendly and professional.
I would say at this hotel again if I was local.

Lovely experience. Great breakfast, Very welcoming staff and owners. Would highly recommend. Our rooms were excellent and everyone was very helpful and accommodating. Big thank you to Gavin for the guitar fix and most interesting lesson in morse code!

Sadly we visited Melton Mowbray for a family funeral, obviously a very emotional and stressful time. We booked our accommodation and the funeral wake at Sysonby Knoll and could not have made a better choice. Our every need was met, nothing was too much and the exceptional staff ensured we could focus on family without a single worry about anything. The buffet was absolutely on point and extremely excellent value. To ensure freshness of food, approximately half was put out when we arrived (the remainder retained in cool store) and then topped up constantly as required. Tea and coffee was included and once again constantly topped up to ensure it was freshly served. Considering our circumstances for this visit we could not have asked for anything more. Amazing and professional staff who we sincerely appreciated.
