We booked a package deal for a night's stay in the hotel and to leave our car for the duration of our holiday. What a fab price we got for a fab stay. The hotel on the outside is very impressive and our room was wonderful, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay apart from no USB sockets which we found to be pretty much standard in other establishments. The weather was very warm when we stayed so was very pleased to find a fan in the wardrobe. We didn't use the restaurant as we found it a little to expensive but we did use the bar for a couple of drinks . Would definitely use the hotel again , we loved our short stay

I have rarely had such a bad experience. The restaurant was closed when I needed to eat (no one bothered to tell me so I was a little stranded), there was a loud private event outside my room (no one bothered to inform me). I was strung along (by Dave) while no one dealt with it. I was jet lagged and needed a good night’s sleep. I was treated with nothing but contempt by the staff. They made it clear that they were more interested in the event going well than people being able to sleep. I suspect they made a good amount from the event, so who cares right? They finally told me that someone would give me compensation upon checkout. Yet again, the young man checking me out had heard nothing about it and appeared to not care at all. He took my email address and assured me someone would email me with compensation on the day. I have heard nothing. I heard a similar thing from other guests. These folks treat guests with contempt. They seem to genuinely not care and it shows. I stay in dozens of hotels each year. This is by far the worst experience and rudest staff I have encountered. The culture appears toxic.

Checked in to find a guest in front of me asking for bottled water (non in the room) as the water coming out of the tap was brown. He was told they didn’t have any, to which he replied “I’ve just been in for dinner and they were in the restaurant”?? No WiFi. Went to reception at 8pm to be told “I’ve just reset the router”. 3 hours later, still no WiFi. So don’t expect to get any work done. Although the WiFi was fixed the following day. Forget trying to get a signal in your room. Room has ancient single glazed sash windows, merely feet away from car park and noise of air conditioning units, fans, or boiler kept me awake. Very noisy hotel so don’t expect any sleep. Air con control panel taken from wall and replaced by a brass plate. Tap water cloudy. First night at dinner two of our party sent back the squid starter as it was like rubber. Not even a comment back from the chef/kitchen? Day time in conference room, no refreshments bought in for 11am as booked and we had to keep going down to reception to chase - what a joke. Don’t waste your money, book somewhere else!

The hotel was overbooked. We arrived, as planned, at 10.30 pm. Took 15 minutes to be served. This was because they were trying to find accommodation for other guests that had been overbooked. They found us s room eventually, which had been refurbished, it smelled of paint, but at least we had a bed. The room was smart and well decorated, but there was no hot water to the hand basin, and no water at all to the bath and shower. The phone in the room didn't work. We went down for breakfast, and complained to front desk. We asked for access ti a room where we could shower. Reception told us they would sort it out while we had breakfast. It took a further 10 minutes after breakfast. The hotel sorted olit out in the end, but, not a good e experience.
