This hotel was tough to rate… for a variety of reasons. My wife and I just stayed here for one night after our cruise came back to port. Let’s start with the good: Everyone at the front desk we interacted with during our stay was extremely nice and helpful. We were super early for check-in because we walked off the ship at 8 am. We were fully planning to just drop our bags and come back and actually check-in later. They were able to check us in early which was extremely helpful and even checked on us as we were eating our breakfast in the lobby. The mini restaurant they have in the lobby is fairly good. Prices are a bit high, but we ate both breakfast and dinner there for convenience. Staff at the restaurant/cafe were also extremely friendly and helpful as well. Food was nothing special, but by no means was it terrible either. They were solid meals to get us by. The location of the hotel is fairly good. While it’s not quite right on the beach, the beach is a very short walk. The hotel is also walking distance from many other restaurants, shopping, and mini golf. It’s a pretty safe and quiet area. Now for the not so good… The room itself was clean, but the bathroom was a bit of a different story. The toilet, especially at the bottom, was pretty gross. The tub in the shower had some blue stains on it. The pillows on the bed looked like they were made for kids and were very small. There was only ONE charging outlet on ONE side of the bed which was extremely frustrating. The TV remote batteries probably hadn’t been changed in years as you could barely work the remote to get the TV to work. I swear the lag between when you pressed a button and when the TV would respond was a solid 2-3 minutes. There weren’t any real privacy curtains at all. Our room was situated across from the Hampton as well as the parking lot. The only “curtains” in the room were sheer see-through. If you needed to change, you had to run into the bathroom. These curtains sure would NOT shield anyone from seeing in your room nevertheless shielding the sun from coming in. Then there’s the walls… yikes. Paper thin. The group that was in the room next to us. We could hear every single word of the conversations they were having and you would have thought when they had their TV on that it was coming from our room. They were up until at least 2 am which kept us up and we had an early flight to catch. I gave this hotel a three star review because there are some good qualities about this place. The staff is wonderful, the location is great, food is decent… but the nuts and bolts of this place leave a lot to be desired.
