James's Place at Dowlais, is a fantastic base for exploring South Wales. The property itself benefits from an easy to find location, plenty of free safe parking, nearby shop and takeaway food options, and excellent access to main routes to Cardiff and Swansea and the South Wales coast. Minutes from local attractions, walks and cycle trails. The rooms themselves are quirkly designed, comfortable, and well furnished, with a small kitchenette and en suite bathroom. The owners are very proactive before arrival with lots of local information provided in advance which we found extremely useful. In fact more information than we had time to make use of. Good value for money

DO NOT STAY HERE. This was honestly the WORST experience I have ever had. I travelled 6 hours to get here. On arrival the property was cold, damp and smelt awful. No hot water, not clean. Owners unresponsive. I felt dirty from the minute I walked in and the smell set my asthma off. The owners were rude and the location is awful. There was a fight happening right outside. I was very unwell after being in this property less than an hour. I ended up leaving and going to stay at a hotel 15 minutes away. Seriously DO NOT book we are in the process of taking this further due to it being a health risk! There is much nicer accommodation available at an even cheaper price. Book elsewhere! The walls are damp and the floor is rotting.
