We stayed at this Hampton Inn for 7 days on a business trip. It took an extra 1.5 hours to get into our room because the cleaning staff was running behind. Inside our room was a sign that advised housekeeping would be every other day. We never had housekeeping. We stopped a maid in our hallway and asked for clean towels the 4th day we were there. One elevator stopped working. We placed a 911 call from our truck behind the convention center when shots were fired. A number of people in our group involved in an outdoor exercise took cover behind cars/trucks in the parking lot. There is a $10/day parking fee paid online. We assumed that maybe there was security in the parking lot to account for the parking fee, but our vehicle was still broken into on our last day there. Rooms were clean and comfortable, room lighting dim. Front desk staff tried to be accommodating, but they were obviously overwhelmed; housekeeping wasn't the only area understaffed. Breakfast was OK, the 24/7 coffee bar was taken down just after breakfast closed at 10am, and the pool was closed. Lunch was offered; prices were very high. I would look for accommodations elsewhere if I found myself in Mesquite again.
