Villa Italia by at Mine Hospitality

I was very disappointed with my stay. Less than a day after checking in, we noticed a lot of tiny ants crawling on the desk and even on the bed. At first, we asked if the bed sheets could be changed, but the number of ants kept increasing throughout the evening. Eventually, we had to request a different room. Although the staff did move us to another room, this was not the kind of experience we expected. Finding ants on the bed is simply unacceptable for any hotel. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not stay here again or recommend this property to others.

This property is in the perfect location and is was a great space. There are so mamy amazing restaurants and stores within walking distance, even a Publix. The beach is a very easy 3 block walk. The porch was the perfect place to have a drink and watch the neighborhood. It was clean and well appointed. The full 6 seat dining table was great for meals and games. The beds were comfortable and both bathrooms were spacious. The kitchen had a 2 burner stove, microwave, and fridge. Stay here.... you will not be disappointed!

Everything about this property is brilliant, its not too far from anywhere, the rooms are good size with very comfortable beds, an OLED flatscreen tv, a cooler, AC, and a modern bathroom. When you want to sit outside on their front porch there is alot of room, 4 tables with umbrellas to provide shade, and a couch. the customer service was also brilliant. I spoke with oscar and the main customer service desk and got any query resolved within 10-15 minutes. Oscar was extremely helpful, even helping extend my stay due to a delayed flight for no extra cost. The price to stay at the villa was also a bargain and the rest of the staff + cleaners were friendly and helpful. 10/10 i would come back, worth the 10 hours in flights.

The room was clean and the ac worked well. There were great dining options available just a block away. We also found a catholic church nearby. The staff kept checking on us via text in case we needed anything.

Made a paid reservation more than a week prior. Received a confirmation of the reservation. I showed up to the hotel with a closed office. Only a phone number on the door. They failed to find my reservation despite me have a confirmation number and a paid reservation. Only answer was sorry. This is not a reputable establishment.

Pretty worn overall. The hotel and room is beaten up, the walls and floors are marked and dirty. There is no security as the room keys are standard house keys - none of the key card sensor pads were working on any of the access doors (so they are left open) or the room. There is a sign on the toilet not to flush toilet paper, but to place it in the small open garbage basket. Really? It looks like there was an upgrade to modernize the room with newer cabinets etc., awhile back, but it has been neglected since that time. Window coverings are broken down, dirty and starting to wear, letting light in from the street all night. “Sound proof rooms”? Lol! Single pane windows means you hear all the street noise all night (and there’s quite a bit of it). There are better options for the price. And of course, charging a $60 resort fee but claiming “free wifi” and no other amenities.

Avoid this hotel, there are so many better options in Miami at a better rate. The resort fee is high for patchy WiFi at best and very little other facilities. The room was damp, you could feel the moisture in the air as you walked in and it had collected on the bedsheets. This hotel needs a big refurbishment. We moved hotels and only offered refund of the resort fee, they would not refund the room. The pictures explain the rest.

We spent 1 night pre-cruise at the Villa Italia Hotel. While it wasn't entirely bad, I wouldn't recommend it either. The good: 1. The price was relatively attractive. 2. The location is pretty good. 3. They serve happy hour wine (more under the not-so-good). 4. The room was fairly spacious. 5. It served its purpose. 6. Room temperature was comfortable. The Not-So-Good: 1. While I think the room was clean, it was old and dated-looking. 2. Chairs so old, stained and damaged that I don't think anyone would buy them in a thrift store (see photos). 3. My check-in was at 3:30 pm. I arrived about 3:10 pm. They made me wait until 3:30 pm. I'm almost certain the room was ready when I arrived. 4. General room scuffed and in need of paint and maintenance. 5. Considerable noise from upstairs, feet stomping and such. 6. Wine in happy hour of a very poor quality. I don't expect an amazing wine at this price point, but I sense they could find something better. Both a glass of white (Costco) and a glass of red went down the drain, and I am not that fussy. 7. I asked for ice and they had none. 8. Substantial resort fee not plainly disclosed. It was apparently in the fine print, but I didn't see that. This is certainly no resort. Conclusion: This is an older, tired hotel in a very good area. Its prices are better than most, especially given its location. In my view, it is not a 4 star hotel, but perhaps a 1 or 2 star hotel. The room was in need of basic maintenance. But again, clean and in a very good location. Respectfully, I would not return.
