I’ve been visiting Salamander Middleburg since 2018, and it’s consistently a top-quality experience. Beautiful setting, luxury amenities, fabulous food and service.

I do not typically write reviews and reserve them for when something absolutely blows me away (both positively or negatively). My wife and I visited the Salamander Middleburg to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our wedding the second weekend of June. It was our first visit and weren't sure what to expect. In short, we were blown away and I say that as someone who has stayed in some of the world's finest properties. From the warm greeting we received from the woman at the valet/bellhop station to the welcome from Allie Wishart, Direct of Front Office Operations it was apparent that the resort was invested in the guest experience. We dined at the Gold Cup Wine Bar and Harrimans on several occasions. We found the food exceptional and were impressed by the manager, Stephen, who ensured that everything was perfect. During our stay my wife enjoyed a massage at the spa and we spent an afternoon together in a poolside cabana which could not have been more relaxing. All of the facilities are well maintained and the entire staff was personable and engaging. This review would not be complete without acknowledging Kevin King who may be the best Food and Beverage Director we have ever encountered. Kevin went over and above throughout our visit to ensure that it would be a trip that would not soon be forgotten. He is a true asset to Salamander Hospitality. In short, if you are reading these reviews looking for a getaway just outside of Washington, DC, you cannot go wrong with this resort! We look forward to a return visit and plan to visit this group's other properties in the near future!

The Salamander Resort is fabulous. From the moment we stepped out of our car to the moment we checked out, everything was perfect. It is a beautiful resort in a beautiful area, only an hour and ten minutes outside of Washington, DC. The rooms are spacious and spotless, the food is excellent. There are three pools (family pool, spa pool and indoor pool), a variety of activities (some free, others a surcharge), including archery, zip-lining, falconry, horseback riding, and guided hikes, You can do nothing or enjoy an active, fun-filled day. You can walk into the quaint town with restaurants and stores in about 15 min (less than a mile), plus they will drive you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. It is a great place to come with family (as we did). It is not cheap. Even archery for a family of five ended up costing $200. That is probably the only con. It was worth it, though for a long weekend. A great place to recharge and reconnect.

Natural beauty, generous everything- space, service, food, which was divine dinning. It was an incredibly memorable experience with spa treatments, zip lining, wineries, salt water pools.. the list just goes on.... It was an amazing way to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of 3 Educators, FRIENDS & Adventurers. Epic! Expensive but you know why...it was Epic.

I heard about Salamander from my dearest friend, who is obsessed with Sheila. I booked a reservation and let me tell you the pictures don't do this place justice. Kiora (from the front desk) was the BEST part of staying here. She was very attentive, kind, welcoming and remembered everything we told her at check in. We traveled with 4 kids, and we went there without an itinerary, however, she made sure we had reservations to Red Bar Sushi! She gave us iSpy for the kids! She suggested smore's by the fire pit. Bryce at GoldCup was our server, and he was on top of everything! The service was immaculate, and the food was superb. The only complaint I have is for the pool hours, from 7Am-7Pm in my opinion does not allow guests enough time to truly enjoy the pools entirety with check in being at 4PM. Overall, the experience was exquisite, and I would highly recommend this place to any and everyone looking for a quality stay.

Perfect place to unplug and relax from the hustle and bustle of life. This is one of my favorite places to relax and recharge. From the spa, infinity pool, and scenic views, this is my happy place.

Don’t waste your money. Decided to give it a try for $790 per night for standard room on a Sunday night. Service is abysmally slow in restaurants (2 hours in Gold Cup for two burgers and kids’ pasta and 20-minute wait for coffee in Harriman’s at breakfast), room is fine but not worth the price, and you are nickeled-and-dimed across the board ($3 extra for fries with burger, $5 for few pieces of carrots for toddler, pawned off to cheap resort wine after ordering different wine). Turndown service not provided after being stopped and offered in the hallway while they are going from room to room. I don’t care if you look at a list and address me by name unless you can actually provide a service (this one remains a mystery - they were two steps from our room and offered turndown - we returned to an untouched room). First-world problems, but if you are charging what you are charging, everything needs to be perfect. This place is simply not worth the money. Activities and grounds are not bad and fun for kids (esp. horses) but do not waste your money here - there are many other Forbes 5-star hotels that actually deserve the rating!

Everyone was wonderful and treated us with so much respect and love. The front desk Eliza was so amazing to us and helped us with a small enterprise problem she definitely went above and beyond her job we love her. The guys in valet were so patient with us and understanding thank you. The Harriman restaurant omg that food was the most luxurious experience we have ever encounter, i want to thank anna and oscar our servers for explaining everything in the menu to us and being so friendly and knowledgeable. The experience that we had was so unique this was the most amazing vacation ever. You can also see some of it on my tik tok channel Valexia85.
