What a wonderful reataurant/bar.. the welcome off the manager was second to none...very friendly ....and we had the most amazing Sunday lunch ....two courses £25....exceptional food ...excellent value for the portion and quality. Would definitely recommend to pop in for a lovely glass of wine... and food. Sue

The Wensleydale used to be known as the Swan Hotel and has been a feature of Middleham for a couple of centuries. The Tack Room restaurant is part of the hotel, and serves up excellent food. The bar is welcoming, and the wine list well worth studying. As a group we had 3 bedrooms, two of which overlooked the square and offered the additional attraction of racehorses passing by on their way to the gallops. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast tasty. We’d definitely return.

A lovely hotel in such a lovely spot; lucky to have picked here with nice owners. A relaxed weekend w really good food for breakfast & tea. Lounge area for some drinks & morning coffee outside as the race horses come back from their run out was a treat.

Wonderful pub with friendly staff and amazing food. We didn't stay in the hotel but we ate in the restaurant and had drinks outside on the sunny terrace. The owner and staff were all so friendly and so accommodating with our 2 dogs. We had the most wonderful Easter Sunday lunch , fantastic food ! We are going to book to stay next time.

We stayed for a dinner, bed & breakfast 1 night stay. The hotel was wonderfully decorated and a roaring fire made us feel very welcome. We had a front facing room with a very comfortable superking bed. The evening meal was excellent with good tasty choices and Rui and Fiona ensured that all our needs were met. The stay was rounded off the following day with a hearty breakfast. This hotel is a real gem, it was our second stay and it will not be our last - cannot recommend enough.

Tack room, wonderful ambience & service, the roast beef was outstanding what a lovely mothers day, also had a look at the rooms spacious, spotless and in keeping with this beautiful building. We will be returning for sure. Thank you for looking after us so well fiona and family.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We stayed in a Signature Room and it was lovely, clean and comfortable with a yummy breakfast the next day. Will recommend.

Such a lovely charming hotel. This is the second time we've stayed here. Staff are awesome and friendly nothing is too much trouble and the food is gorgeous and all is cooked fresh. The room we stayed in was spacious and faced the market Square. Only draw back was the stairs as it's and old building there wasn't a lift but don't let it put you off staying here it's well worth putting up with the stairs. Another plus is for those who have fur babies they are dog friendly.
