There was roaches and the hotel was dirty.

Check in was fine, got into room and it smelled like smoke & it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Toilet stopped working mid-stay, & ran all night. The room had a wrapper on the floor & underneath the bed was dirty.

Worst rudest owner I ever met. Always challenging online rates. Barely 10 people renting at anytime. Mostly empty. Very noisy truck traffic 24 hours a day with endless tractor trailers right in front of the hotel. Mostly angry over worked staff. Owner demands $15.00 a day for pets? Other hotels don't. Stay away from this hotel. I went to the Econolodge in Mechanicsburg. Much nicer. Quiet location. Great friendly owners. Never going back to the Econolodge in Carlisle ever again.

Checked in expecting a room that is entered from an inside hallway, as exists in the main part of the hotel. Instead I'm sent to an outbuilding where my room is accessed from a parking lot. Can live with it. Not ideal, but can work.
Entered room and immediately noticed that nothing was clean. The entire room just felt dirty. Really dirty.
I went to get the soap to wash my hands and a large roach was on the soap.
After dispatching the unwelcome guest I went to turn on the tv. While doing so I see another decent sized roach meandering across the floor between the bed and the tv area.
Dispatched that one and just looked closer around the room. Just filthy. Like nothing was ever really cleaned.
I was so disgusted by the room I literally never touched the bed or really any other part of the room.
Instead, I re-packed my car and drove down the road to a much nicer hotel and slept peacefully knowing I would not be visited by the roaches during the night.
Money clearly lost but there is no way I would stay at this hotel. It was so bad I was willing to LOSE my payment to leave.

Slightly dirty, weeds growing up in mulch. Coffee left in my microwave. Families living in one of the buildings with recliners out on balcony.
