Grand Texan Hotel and Convention Center

They stay was horrible I was harassed when they come knock on the for check out and didn’t even give me time to open and just bust the door open I was talked too very rudely I’ve been lied too from the first day I checked in … I would definitely not recommend

Wouldn’t be allowed to wait in the lobby for my rental to be ready. Because 30mins wait was too long, checkout was 11 and my rental wasn’t ready till 12. I can’t say how disappointed I was with this stay. Restroom were locked, nothing in room worked. Itchy sheets. Wouldn’t of been that bad, but it’s mid summer and I was put outside with 2 toddlers to wait for my rental for an hour. Very unkind afternoon staff, she also did the same to me the following day when I walked into lobby, I’d say that lady was ******.

My husband stayed here for a night before he went back to work to start his job. It was advertised there was a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. There was no shuttle service. The hotel room was dirty. Towels were dirty. Soap was dirty. The bed and pillows were also dirty. The coffee was 4 years expired. They advertised free breakfast. The only thing there was for breakfast was scrambled eggs and beans. They advertised a pool. It was out of order. They refused to give a refund for all the lies and bad service. Please don't waste your money on this place.

We needed a clean bed and shower and Grand Texan Hotel provided all this. My only complaint is that breakfast stopped being served at 8:45 a.m., which I think is a little early. It was a very last minute reservation that we needed and a room was available, late check in was okay.

Not sure why or what is so "GRAND" about this rinky dink motel... You definitely get what you pay for! Cheap... Yes but that may be the only pro to this place. Due to unfortunate circumstances we HAD to stay here for a week, and even 1st ✅ in the lady was very rude, was telling us we had to turn in a towel to get a new one, we can only have 1 key and be sure it gets returned.... We get to our room at back of property, outside room door. The numbers are so small you have to get right up on them to see them. There was a big RV stationed in the small parking area in front of our room and also a work truck of some kind that had 2 flat tires, obviously had been inoperable for some time. We went in our room and the foul smell slaps you in the face first thing, then you look down at some stained up raggedy old carpet. It was in the 30's outside so we turned on the "heater" to get the room warmed up. The toilet had a sanitized paper across the lid staying it had been cleaned... LIES. The tub was filthy, hair in it that had not been cleaned up from previous guests. Obviously these back rooms are reserved for "workers" and it shows. They are NOT cleaned at all. About an hour had passed and it was still freezing in our room, the "heater" was blowing cold air so I went to tell the front desk and she tried to tell me no no no, look lady it's gonna be freezing temps all week and we are NOT staying in that room. Hesitantly she assigned a new room when she saw I was not gonna back down. Our new room, also in the back of property but in front of a huge parking area was NOT Any better. I've taken pics, didn't take any of first room but take my word for it! This place is a joke! Very dirty, stinks, unsanitary, plumbing needs fixed-we we're without a 🚽toilet for 2 days waiting on someone to fix it. I wrote the date in the dust on the microwave stand it was so thick. The door does not secure or lock and is letting cold air in all around and under it. I was interrogated when I went to lobby to ask for a roll of toilet paper by the guy working, wth?!? I honestly felt like I was being punked. EVERYTHING is closed and under "maintenance". No laundry room, breakfast, nothing close by besides car lots and the interstate... Best bet get back on there and head further down the road and go somewhere safe, clean and worth the money. The health inspector needs to visit this place all the way around, it needs to be condemned until it's fixed and everything is up to standard. They are false advertising on the internet to get people in here only to find out once you check in and it's too late.

From start to finish the staff there was very helpful and made everything very easy when renting the convention center. They were all very kind and helped us at any given time. Our event was a success, highly recommend working with them!

What a terrible place to have any kind of event. We went to a wedding at the hotel on Saturday and it was so hot in the hotel, not just in the room where the event was but also in the halls & bathrooms. We had to have some huge industrial type fans in the room just to help. I went into the bathroom, the one off the mail lobby, several of the toilets were broken and it was filthy. It rained during the wedding, which would have been ok except that it also rained in the ballroom that we were in, water leaked on the DJ's equipment so we had to stop the music and move his stuff. We were not in the room that was originally booked, not sure what happened other then the hotel screwed that up somehow. When some of our out of town guests checked in on Friday they were told that there wasn't a wedding scheduled for Saturday. The whole place was dirty, I noticed that some of the guests who had taken their shoes off to be more comfortable had black feet by the end of the evening, I don't think that the carpets have been cleaned in years. I would never have another event here, the whole place is falling apart.

Overcharged. Promised services not delivered. No pool. No restaurant. No breakfast. Terrible room. I have not stayed in every hotel in Midland, so I can't say it's the worst, but I know you'll be happier somewhere else.

Our room was clean and comfortable; a bit worn but not badly. It was the best hotel bargain we have seen in a long time of lots of travel. The breakfast buffet was odd -- only styrofoam plates that could not be microwaved. No water. Coffee was available but quite a distance away in the front lobby. However, there were unusual but great food options for the microwave -- chicken and cheese quesadillas, taquitos and kolache with delicious sausage. Considering how many motels have given up serving breakfast at all, and considering the tasty food options, it was fantastic.....again, because it was such a fabulous price. As a convention center it is struggling to stay alive after Covid; the lobby area is lovely and there's an atrium, although we never went to look at it. If you want comfort and affordability, expecting to get what you pay for, this is a FABULOUS place. We'd stay again if we pass back through Midland. I am labeling service as 'poor' because it was hard to find employees....but when we did, they were extremely thoughtful and eager to please. It seemed they needed a few more employees, but we know those are hard to find these days, and as the motel is struggling to hang on till better times come again.
