Very nice room, breakfast was provided with the room. It was clean and quiet. It is as advertised on the booking site, which is a very nice change. There is dinner available at the restaurant, it is important to book a table if you want to sit in the dining room. A good variety of drinks.

A modern, warm inviting space that was almost too pleasant to leave. Lovely people running the place. It has a good menu but nothing identified as specifically gluten free but they can adapt dishes- gravies and sauces are gluten free. I has spicy lamb ribs with veggies: it was very good with a generous serving

Very comfortable and clean room, complete with breakfast provisions, Restaurant has a good variety of meals on offer, we both had trout which was delicious, as was the dessert of apple crumble. Service was efficient and friendly and the view from the dining room makes you want to sit and enjoy atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend if you are after a nice, quiet and comfortable place to spend a night or two.

The only reason we stayed at the Lodge was that we were on our way through to Launceston and our planned accommodation did not work out and Miena had somewhere to eat. We checked in and were not given our free wi-fi code so had to go back again but really the reception is extremely patchy. The room was extremely dated but the bathroom had received a recent update. Unfortunately, for some reason they have disconnected/couldn't find the switch for the ceiling fan which answers the question as to why there is mould on the ceiling. the actual water pressure was good and the water hot. The bed was comfortable. There was a breakfast pack for a simple continental breakfast. Also never stayed in a motel where all the windows used timber sticks for window security. The meal at the hotel was very good with good simple pub food and our steaks were hugh.

We stayed for one night en route to Hobart. The room provided us with everything we needed, hot shower, breakfast, TV etc. The lodge is set in beautiful quiet surroundings overlooking the lake. The food in the restaurant was excellent highly recommend it.

I’m so glad we chose to stay at the Central Highlands Lodge while visiting Miena. The accommodation and restaurant have been the best value for money we’ve seen so far in Tasmania. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Dinner at the Lodge was homestyle, wholesome and very high quality. We had dinner plans somewhere else for our second night but canceled them to eat at the Lodge again. Highly recommend to anyone passing through or visiting the Central Highlands.

Helen and Michael set the bar high in regards to looking after guests. The staff follow their lead and are very helpful and upbeat. The accommodation and food was great. Newly renovated rooms with all the bells and whistles. A washing machine was a god send after a week on the road. We had our best meal (rainbow trout) of the trip there. Finally, we really appreciated up to date advice on the condition of tracks in the area. It made a big difference to our trip.

Great accommodation - very comfy, seperate bedroom with single beds for the kids, a handy little kitchenette and parking right outside the door. The food in the restaurant was beautiful, the staff were very helpful and friendly and it snowed whilst we were there which was SO exciting for this family from Broome! The hotel has a small book exchange and I borrowed one but forgot to come back and replace the book with another one - sorry! Next time I visit I’ll bring two books to make up for it.

Central Highlands Lodge Miena This hotel in our opinion is NOT a five-star hotel. The following is the description for a 5-star hotel from the official website that rates hotels in Australia. “Properties that typify luxury across all areas of operation. Guests will enjoy an extensive range of facilities and comprehensive or highly personalised services. Properties at this level will display excellent design quality and attention to detail.” The Central Highlands Hotel does not typify luxury across any areas of operation. Breakfast is a simple breakfast consisting of 2 pieces of white bread per person in a zipped locked plastic bag with a hand full of butters, jams, small packet of cereals. The breakfast is in your room, and you are expected to wash your own dishes. There is very little to do in the hotel and guests can certainly not enjoy an extensive range of facilities. Reception is hardly attended so it is very difficult to address any concerns you may have. The double room we stayed in had a leaking shower and basic facilities. Room service consisted of been given bread the next morning, but the towels were not changed, beds were not made etc. The WiFi dropped out after a few hours, and it was difficult to reconnect to the hotel’s internet. Not something we have experienced staying in a 4- or 5-star hotel. We would never stay there again.
