I love this propertty because it has so much history and has a lovely garden to the back of the building . Local shops and restaurants are withing walking distance.

The hotel was lovely we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Nice room, friendly staff all good. However the food was absolutely fantastic, could not fault it in any. We only had a one day stay and enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast, both meals fabulous.

Hotel really lovely but definitely in need of some TLC Our room was dusty and pillows very hard but we had a lovely view. The shower needs to be more powerful as it took ages to wash my hair. Also toilet did not flush properly. We ate there one evening and as a vegetarian I was disappointed at the lack of imagination. Everything was either blue cheese or mushroom on every course!!! Seems a bit lazy! Marie the waitress was lovely as we're all the staff.

We stayed for a couple of nights for the races. Large clean, comfy room. All the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast & dinner were very good. Cooked to order, fresh and tasty. Thanks to the chef and pastry chef. The only problem we had was on our 2nd night. There was a private event on in the main restaurant. A very loud busy quiz followed by an even louder disco. This was very disruptive and spoiled our evening. We could not sleep as the disco could be heard in our room. I did complain & was told they would try and turn it down, this didn't happen. I mentioned this on checkout, we should have been forward warned, as we could have changed our plans. An apology was given but no compensation.

Had a lovely stay here and a massive thanks to all the staff especially the Chef Mackie - The food we had was gorgeous also a special mention to Laura who made us feel very welcome and for exceptional service so thank you we will certainly be back again soon

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our short stay. There was an a**osphere of friendliness and warmth and nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was spacious, clean, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The dining room was bright, clean and well laid out so that views of the the lovely gardens could be seen from all tables. The food was superb, delicious and well presented, served quickly by friendly staff. Would have no hesitation in staying in this hotel again.
