Kincaid House Hotel

Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful and quiet location. We have stayed in many hotels in the area in the past and this is far and above the best! We loved it. It’s the only place we will come to in the future!

A convenient stop for one night before heading south after a week in Scotland. The room and en-suite were spotless, recently refurbished and decorated. The king bed was very comfortable and the brilliant large shower was lovely and hot. Breakfast was fine, the porridge was amazing with a beautiful fruit salad as a side. A very peaceful place.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch in the Stable Bar. Very cozy on a miserable afternoon with the fire. I had the Roast Beef dinner which was delicious and my Granddaughter enjoyed the Halloumi Burger. Food was delicious and the staff were excellent and very friendly. Will return soon!

We have been regular customers at the restaurant for several years and even held our wedding there in 2018, the food has always been first class but not anymore. We have been 3 times since the change of chef/menu and each time has been disappointing. Our third visit today will be our last. I was served lukewarm processed macaroni cheese which looked like it had come out of a tin. I asked for it to be reheated which they did but it made no difference to the bland, tasteless meal. I told the staff how poor it was and got an apology from the waiter but that was it. He removed my 3/4 full plate of food and no offer was made of a replacement or a reduction from the bill. We are so disappointed as we always enjoyed going to the Kincaid but the combination of poor food and lack of interest by the staff has convinced me not to return.

We have stayed at this hotel previously so booked again as we were familiar with the location etc. The room was lovely and quiet but unfortunately the matress was lumpy and uncomfortable and pillows were awful, there was only one spare pillow in the wardrobe which meant a rather uncomfortable nights sleep. Breakfast wasn't much better if I'm honest, i chose the full Scottish breakfast, the bacon was only just cooked and the tomatoes were not cooked at all, no butter or jam was provided for the toast, not what I expect when paying extra for breakfast.

Called at the Stables for lunch, ordered seafood salad ,it was served on a small plate that a starter would normally be served on, long wait for service, dull and very cold, no money has been spent on this place for years, £45 for a starter, and a drink, avoid .

Can't recommend the place enough. Great rooms, excellent cood and the staff to match. I choose to stay here every month when in Scotland now.

Nice place room was very clean and warm on arrival. Staff helpful on check in and breakfast. I only stayed one night. Didn’t use bar at night so can’t comment. Place was very quiet and got a good nights sleep Breakfast was great freshly cooked and warm. Nice setting I would use again Thanks
