Residence Inn Minneapolis Eden Prairie

Feel duped by what should be “the Marriott standard”. The property is woefully outdated! The hallway smell other reviews mention is that of oder one would use in attempt to cover up a smoke smell. And yes, there are certainly stains through out the carpet. . The beds are painfully uncomfortable! Mine sharply sloped to the edge due to be so dated. The floor might have been more comfortable. We felt this ‘hotel’ was previously an apartment complex that was acquired by Marriott and that minimal effort was invested to met what should be a marginal accommodation. There also appears to be sketchy people still remaining in the units until their lease finally expires (Very sketchy people around,,, and yes, I’m judging/observing because that’s what you do when you have young children traveling with you). In no way, shape, or form should this place be Marriott branded! Stay away if traveling with your family, or if some minimal level of comfortable sleeping is expected. I do concur with others, the front desk staff was very friendly. You could tell they were trained in “the Marriott way”,,,, it’s just unfortunate the standard ends there with this location.

Our check in experience was outstanding. Very welcoming. Very clean, breakfast was good. The basketball court and pool were good, teenagers were entertained. Parking lot is pretty rough. Easy off the highway, in good shape for older property.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn, Eden Prairie. We stayed for 4 nights in April, 2022. The room was clean, big, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near many stores and restaurants and is close to 494 making it easy to get around town. The morning breakfast was simple yet offered a wide variety of good foods. Also, the main dishes were changed daily. More importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful and offered restaurant suggestions upon arrival. We were traveling with a dog and they were quick to help find the best room available to make outside visits more convenient. I only wished they had a fenced in area for dogs but that is minor. I've read other less positive reviews and that was not our experience. However, my husband and I are low-maintenance or perhaps we got an updated room.

We spent a weekend seeing family in Minnesota and stayed at the Residence Inn in Eden Prairie. While the staff was nice, the pool was nice. The room and building we stayed in were in terrible shape. The odor in the hallway/common space was a mix of mildew, mold and musty. The carpet was all stained, the walls had holes in them. The door to the building and the door to our room required multiple swipes of the key card before the lock would disengage (We changed out the keys and problem continued). The doors in the bedroom did not close properly, the couch was stained, and the upstairs bathroom toilet ran all the time (only way to fix was to remove the cover and manually shut off, staff either were not able to repair or never came). Sadly it appears that this hotel has been let go since it was built in the 90's. Until they can remodel, I do not recommend staying at this hotel, there are others in the area for the same rate (Home 2 Suites and Hilton Garden Inn are close)

We stayed at this hotel years ago and loved it. Our recent stay was a nightmare. The room was run down, the TV did not work, and our room was infested with boxelder bugs. We should have left, but we had traveled all day and had unpacked everything by the time we realized the bugs were invading. I called the front desk several times, and the gal working was very kind. She brought a vacuum to gather up the multitude of dead bugs and many live ones. But they just kept coming. The next afternoon the manager did come to spray for the bugs. The helped a little, but I was not happy to be in a room with fresh insecticide. We left early, and thankfully we were not penalized for early departure. We were comped for one night, but I will not be returning to this hotel unless they do a major renovation.
