The hotel had great service, including hotel information at the front desk! The breakfast area overlooks the city of Porto and has a great view. This is not limited to this hotel in Portugal, but there are no slippers or toothbrushes in the room, so you need to bring your own. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay in an upgraded room.

The Avantgarde is a delightful, luxurious boutique hotel that offers a perfect refuse from the hustle/bustle of Porto. The location is perfect, the staff is friendly, professional and really, really nice. The hotel has a great vibe and the outdoor space: the pool, patio, deck/cafe over looking the Drouro is spectacular. This little hotel packs a lot of heart into their operation and the service really is bar none. Don't hesitate to book.

I wasn’t a guest at the hotel, but the spa is phenomenal. Vaida the masseuse is a miracle worker and was so considerate, asking about specific areas I wanted to work on and if anything was painful (it never was, the massage was intense but divine). Rita at the reception is also lovely — friendly and so accommodating of a last-minute booking and allowed me to use the incredible sauna until the spa was closing. A must visit when you come to Porto!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. We enjoyed being greeted by excellent staff who went out of their way to assist in any way they could. We woke each morning to a delicious, well curated breakfast overlooking the Duoro River. Highly recommend this hotel. It was convenient for walking to many sites of Porto.

Excellent three night stay in this beautiful hotel. We had a superior suite which was lovely and spacious. A small balcony overlooking the river added to the experience. Service was excellent. Incredibly friendly staff. We were able to enjoy the pool too. Not too far a walk to all the sights. Porto is hilly so be prepared. But after long days this was an amazing hotel to come back to.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff - so friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Super clean. Never seemed busy but was clearly high occupancy. Stunning pool. Great location for exploring Porto. Would absolutely recommend for a relaxing break!
