My husband and I spent a great 3 nights. Loved the location - it was easy to walk to city center as it's already up the hill. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our 2 dinners there were excellent. Room super clean; we splurged on a balcony which was very nice. Had 2 spa trea**ents - great. Breakfast could not have been any better. Highly recommend. Weather was chilly for pool but perfect for walking the city.

Lovely hotel with commanding views of the river and city from the dining room (right side of the attached photo) and most of the rooms. Located adjacent to, but not in, the tourist section which makes it perfect. Staff were outstanding. Friendly, multilingual and very knowledgeable about the city. We are fortunate enough to stay in many 5 star hotels. Many are maybe not quite what you would expect but a few are more than you’d expect. Torel Avantgarde falls easily into the later category. It is 5 stars everyday, all day long. Highly recommend.

+Nice boutique hotel. Magnificent view over the river Douro from the breakfast room and terrace. Walking distance from the Ribeira quarter and the city center. Steep climb from the river bank though. Tram to the center or the beach: a few hundred meters. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Not cheap (five star hotel)

Our stay in Porto was perfect thanks to the team at Torel avant-garde. Sophia and Inez were wonderful ambassadors helping w our day to day itineraries. Breakfast was perfect each morning w wonderful options and tasty offerings. Loved relaxing by the pool each afternoon after a day of exploration. Our room was clean, quiet and stylishly decorated. We’ll be back and we’ll definitely be exploring other Torel properties.

En general no es un hotel de 5 estrellas, es de 4 estrellas o como mucho 4 superior. Tanto el desayuno como la comida en el restaurante dejan bastante que desear. En cambio la atención y amabilidad de todo el personal de recepción fue muy buena, diria que exquisita en todos los aspectos.

Thank you to Miguel and all of the team for this wonderful memorable experience. This hotel is special. We celebrated a big birthday at this hotel which will be remembered for ever more. The service, food, people, facilities, views and location cannot be beaten in the city of Porto. Highly recommend this unique boutique, artistic hotel. An unforgettable five star getaway.

Great location. Awesome food and access to everything. Room is small but the service and breakfast make up for that. I would stay here again. We did the Taylor’s Wine Tour and explored the city for the two days we were here. I wish we had more time and plant to be back.
