La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miramar Beach-Destin

When booking a stay at the hotel I used pictures from La Quinta's website for the specific hotel and was shown a picture for a deluxe room which had a couch at the end of the room. Upon arriving the "deluxe" room I was shown had a bunk bed. As this did not fit my needs I was moved into a standard room (yet charged the rate for the deluxe room.) Getting proper sleep was difficult as people walking around on the floor above was quite loud. There were intermittant issues with the TV going in and out. While I have stayed at La Quinta's in the past for an overnight while traveling, this was the first time I had used the hotel as Basecamp for a vacation. Never again. A positive for the hotel is that the room was clean. Overall a very poor experience.

friendly staff and a bright, modern clean facility. Only concern was a lamp which appeared to have a short - when attempted to turn on it made a buzzing noise, the TV went off and the other lights flickered. reported to desk and was told they had experienced something like that before when circuit breaker tripped. This was the first night of a 3 day stay, and the lamp was not replaced or, to my knowledge, examined.

I like the hotel

Check in and check out there was no guest services around at all for several minutes. Having the only car in the parking lot we were given a room next to the IT closet that made a non stop loud noise the entire time. Aside from this it was a decent place to stay.

Room was clean, near beach, convenient, loved it

Super friendly staff and easy, smooth checkin. Hotel was updated and clean,plenty of parking and great access to the beach as well as many good restaurants near by. I would have give 4 stars but the breakfast was extremely limited and the beds as well as the bedding were dated and not comfortable. Pillows were terrible and the blanket was thin and worn. The air conditioning seems to have a hard time keeping up and it was very loud.
