Хороший отель, все понравилось, классный бассейн, отзывчивый персонал. Только комары доставали, лучше не открывать двери и окна вечером/рано утром! И wifi плохой, но это мелочи))

We stayed for two nights at the Somerset Beach Hotel. On arrival we were greeted by several staff members, and our bags were kindly carried up the stairs to our room. The room was spacious, bright, clean, air-conditioned, and had a lovely sea view. The bed was also beautifully decorated, which was a nice touch. Although the hotel is located right on the beachfront, there’s no direct beach access as shown in some photos. However, Turtle Bay is only a two-minute walk away and is a great spot for snorkelling with tropical fish and turtles. The hotel was extremely quiet during our stay—we only noticed two other couples the entire time. Breakfast was pleasant on both mornings, with a good amount of choice, and the server was polite. Our main criticism is the lobby restaurant. The issue wasn’t the food, but the ambience: it felt dark and uninviting, especially compared to the rest of the bright building. A simple refresh with lighter paint could really help draw people in for dinner, especially since it’s advertised as a seafood restaurant (although we didn’t see anyone dining there during our stay). Overall, a pleasant stay in a great location, but not memorable.

The hotel is a basic beachside hotel albeit with no direct access to the beach. However, it is within walking distance of Parrot Island and the sandy beach with waterside restaurants. Room was clean and basically furnished albeit affording a reasonable view of the ocean. Shower and fridge were fully operational. State of towels (as referenced by a fellow traveller on Booking. Com in late February) had holes and were frankly a disgrace (see photo). On referring to Duty Manager he offered no apology and took no responsibility and blamed the staff. However, given a similar recent complaint this is, in my opinion, unacceptable. To add insult to injury the room charge invoiced exceeded the pre agreed rate (including taxes). Room is essentially overpriced and I believe there must be better options available with a management that has pride in their operation and takes responsibility for any shortcomings. Stay at your own peril !

My wife and I stayed here for one night during our trip around Sri Lanka. The hotel is in a great location in Mirissa and the staff were lovely! At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. The hotel is reasonably priced, however for that, you get a hotel in a good location with nice staff, a clean room and WiFi. It’s nothing overly special but a safe and clean place to spend the night.

The hotel is on the beachfrint with great ocean views from the front rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean and have a balcony. The bathroom was clean. The manager was very helpful with suggestions and making sure that everything was ok. I enjoyed the breakfast. It was a mixture of sri lankan and western. They have a great bar with tasty food on the beach called the Tipsy Turtle. The sunbeds are free for guests. The beach is a small cove so it was perfect for swimming, with no waves. I would stay here again.

Good location-right on the beach and has local shops and restaurants near by. Good place for surfing. Hotel food was average. Rooms were standard although wifi did not work properly. Staff were pleasant however do not go to the spa that staff recommend/promote. The spa is Ayurvedic spa about 5km from the hotel. There was only two masseuse and the gentleman was extremely extremely inappropriate with female customers.
