Instagram-worthy but HORRIBLE service. My partner and I came here for the weekend to scope out the area ahead of our destination wedding in El Salvador next month. We wanted to find a spot for our wedding guests, who are mostly American and have not been to El Salvador, to enjoy the beach before/after the wedding. We did not find the joyous and welcoming experience you can find anywhere else in the country here at NAWI and will not be recommending it to our friends and family. The service was horrible and as guests we felt basically felt invisible to the hotel staff: - We asked for a waiter by the relaxing pool area and the front desk staff told us one would come. After 30 minutes, no one came. - We went over to the louder, more upbeat area of the resort to receive service. There, we were denied Piña Coladas, despite the fact that a large group of ~15 guests were served Piña Coladas later that night. We were denied sitting on the beds by the beach, as the staff told us they were reserved for guests staying at the hotel and spending more than $100 (we stayed at the hotel and spent much more than that during our stay). We asked for towels by the pool, as it got pretty cold at night, and the staff told us they would check but again, never followed up. During other interactions, my partner was just plain ignored by the staff. It's unclear if the staff are overworked, undertrained, or just plain rude and incompetent, but do not expect to have decent service during your stay here. There are plenty of other hotels in El Salvador with beautiful views, nice waves, nice amenities, and quality service. The exception were the waiters Luis and Saul. They were incredibly nice and accommodating, and if you stay there, we hope you get to meet them and interact with them. They checked in on us to make sure we were doing OK when they noticed we were not in the best of moods.
