So we're in N. Carolina from Michigan for my daughter's wedding and staying 3 nights at the Comfort Inn/Mocksville. In the morning after the first night, we discover a huge infestation of bedbugs in our room. They are EVERYWHERE in the beds, mattresses, etc. Blood stains on bedding underside, etc. The hotel was very apologetic and did admit at THAT point that this room had experienced an infestation and that this was the first time it had been used after 2 weeks of being closed. So I would say they probably didn't bring in professionals to deal with the problem. They moved us to another room for nights 2 and 3. Fingers crossed! So now it's time to call Hotels.com to see what their protocols are for this type of thing (they must deal with this kind of thing all the time, right?). Here's their ”solution:” we'll give you a $25 coupon for your next booking! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???? So, avoid Hotels.com - they obviously don't care about customers. Otherwise there would have been a FULL REFUND for this night of horror. So if YOU use Hotels.com and discover an infestation in YOUR room, you should know they won't help you get a refund. Oh, but they WILL give you a coupon. Wow, how noble! And I would think twice about using this hotel. I mean, really?? If you DID hire professionals to deal with your bedbugs, you obviously need to fire them and go with a real company. Might cost you more, yeah. But think about the damage you have done to yourself by NOT taking care of this problem and how this negatively affected guests at your hotel!
