What a beautiful little town and the hotel is a gem . ALL the staff were so friendly and welcoming and in a really genuine way. Our room was decorated really tastefully and super clean and cosy. Great value and included a well cooked delicious breakfast. I really enjoyed our stay and regret it was only for one night.

I was very disappointed on my visit for lunch. The food is very small proportions. But most disappointing was the bar staff. Very unfriendly! It seems they do not want passing trade. I was overcharged and mentioned this to one of the staff who was very rude to me. So, so disappointed!

Moffat’s best kept secret for an excellent meal. Plenty of parking, Reception staff friendly and experienced. Lunch in a beautiful Garden Restaurant, small numbers but plenty of space between tables for privacy. Menu small but adequate selection. Food very well presented and was delicious, nice sized portions served by friendly and non pushy staff. Price was up market, not expensive for what you get in ambience and quality We had a really lovely meal and experience. One to be repeated again soon. Thank you everyone for a lovely experience

Loved this place, my wife had booked us in for my birthday. Room was superb, and the lady on reception was a real star, so friendly and kind. The reason I only gave 4 stars was that breakfast was only 'fine'! The staff were not a patch on the housekeeping staff or the receptionist, they just seemed miserable, especially the guy who served us. The food was ok, but toast not great at all, cheap bread and over done. Would we stay again? Yes! More because of the receptionist and the room, but please get a better bread supplier!

A second visit to this charming, old-fashioned hotel just off the A74 (M) but a world away from modernity. The decor is distinctive, the service friendly, and breakfast sets one up for a day's travelling splendidly. Unfortunately the sash windows are not noise-proof, and if there are voluble guests in the bar or smoking area peace is not always guaranteed - but it still beats an identikit corporate bloatel any day.

Moffat House is one in a million! The rooms are beautiful, spacious and our copper bath was a lovely luxurious touch. The beds were so comfy! This is a wonderful boutique hotel. Everything about it was amazing. Stylish, luxurious are words that certainly come to mind. The staff are friendly and professional. Special mention to the Chef - We had evening dinner there and was cooked exquisitely. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Arrived for Sunday lunch at 15:15 only to be informed that the kitchen is closed! What restaurant serving. Sunday lunch closes at such hour? Behind us were a few other families wanting to dine. Having spoken to a bar tender she said "we'd already done enough covers!"

Stayed here for one night while participating in the Moffat Classic car show. We chose this hotel mainly due to its reputation/reviews and large car park. The Hotel ticked all the right boxes, lovely room, good friendly staff and very good breakfast as well as a nice comfortable bar area for evening drinks. Unfortunately we didn't the restaurant other than for breakfast, we look forward to a return visit next year.

We came here as a cycling group for lunch. Great food, excellent service and what a lovely building , inside and out. Highly recommended. Great location with large car park. Some amazing internal decor and furnishings, look out for the antler chair1
