Hotel SAL Marina

Booked this hotel for one overnight stay, we were looking for a cheap stay as it was a last minute emergency. The room was spotlessly clean, linen, towels lovely and white, no damage to furniture ( believe me you come to expect less from 2 star but not here) little balcony and air con, TV in Spanish naturally. Staff friendly and accomodating with my Spanglish.

This hotel is by far the worst I have experienced in Mojacar, my partner is in a wheelchair so we called the hotel to ascertain disabled access... We were told there are 3 steps to negotiate which she said was ok for her in her wheelchair. When we got there it turned out o be 9 steps which is awful for her and embarrassing. When I pointed this out to the owner that he said 3 steps he shrugged and told us to go to Hotel Puntazo, unfortunately this was shut for refurbishments. We had to return to see the smirk on his face as he knew he had us over a barrel. The bath had short dark hairs in it... I am bald and my partner has extremely long hair so despite Covid cleaning the bathroom was unhygienic. On our last night the bathroom door somehow became locked so we couldn't use it , we phoned the hotel on our mobile as the internal phone is disconnected and a lady came and unlocked the door with a pen refil... Obviously this happens frequently and they would rather leave people in discomfort than have the lock fixed. We love Mojacar but if this was the only hotel available we would rather not visit this beautiful place again. Shame on the owners to exploit disabled people in such a way. I wanted to denounce this hotel but my partner is embarrassed by her wheelchair so did not want to attract attention to herself and be accused of using the disabled card to get preferential treatment.
