Enjoyed our stay

Left a review for the dining, but the accommodation is worth a review too. It's clean, well-appointed and comfortable. It was exactly what I was looking for, and was good value - I really enjoyed my stay. Service was excellent too - friendly but unobtrusive. The free breakfast in the morning was also really appreciated before my long hike!

The a**osphere was amazing! Wonderful food and service. Room was comfortable and clean. We came here as a stop over from Cradle Mountain and was not disappointed. Not only was the room comfortable and worth the price (particularly given the time of year we visisted), the staff were all very friendly and the whole place has a wonderful a**osphere. If you visit and like being able to mingle, we definitely recommend the set dinners they offer from Wednesday to Sunday. You get the chance to mingle with other patrons of the hotel as you eat and the food was amazing quality! Definitely recommend if you are ever in the area. They do have limited rooms, so you are best to book.

If your driving past stop... it's worth it, beer is good and food is exellent. Would be even better if they had wings with blue cheese sauce on the menu😊. We have tried to stop here before but it's been closed so we nearly kept driving but glad we didn't.

We stayed in the bunkhouse ensuite room upstairs and it was very comfortable. It had two sets of bunk beds, both with double beds on the bottom. Our family of four were very happy in there and the breakfast room and shared lounge room were lovely. We have no negative feedback on the accomodation at all, we had a great stay. My only comment would be that the service area downstairs in the tap house was not very family friendly: no kids food menu, no kids drinks available, high bar stool seating and no kids allowed in the pool table area at all. I understand - not everyone wants to hang out with kids, but it does seem strange to cut the market down so much in such a small town? We would have loved to eat dinner there but instead we had to walk to the pub down the road where they served kids meals, free colouring kids packs and had some kids games available. We still loved the Taphouse experience and the accommodation was perfect - I just wish we could have felt a little more welcome downstairs?

Old school hotel which is fine, has a lot of character but is a bit Fawlty Towers with instructions as to what you are permitted to eat and the requirement to clean your own dishes after breakfast. I understand that some guests could/would try to exceed the allocated breakfast but there are ways to do that without becoming overbearing with written directions.

An older hotel well renovated. On-street parking on the outskirts of a small country town. Dinner menu was limited but OK. Breakfast was self-serve cereal and yoghurt.
