Walking Offas Dyke with a friend so just a short downhill diversion from Kymin. Great welcome at reception. We booked a family pod as that was all that was available so very spacious for two people. As not carrying stove etc. very pleased to be able to enjoy the Friday night, freshly cooked pizzas made on site - delicious. Loved the atmosphere. Ducks, chickens wandering around and the affectionate cat of course! Toilet and shower blocks clean. Was able to buy hot drinks in the morning from the reception/ cafe/bar area. Would definitely recommend. We stayed out of school holidays so relatively quiet and peaceful especially in the area where the pods are situated.

Ace. Site offers lots of variety for pitches, but be careful of rain drenched grass. There are lots of slopes caravans will need blokes and wedges. Bar/shop/pizzaria is bing worked on giving magic views of lakes. Showers and loos are kept spotless – they still need to fix the wall, fixing for the shower hose in the adapted washroom, which is otherwise excellent (oh I forgot, like most places, there is nowhere to put or hang clothes, while showering!). Nothing is too much trouble , and as the owners will aver we are always too much trouble.🤣🤣🤗

Currently on our last day here. What a great place to camp. Great facilities, great location for local amenities and attractions. But a beautiful rural location. The best part of all was the staff and how they will do anything they can to help and ensure you have a great stay! Jeff/Geoff, rich and the team go above and beyond. Highly recommended place to stay!

I have mixed feelings about this campsite. Likes: - Great location for access to the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire - Good ground for pitching - Large site with choice of pitches - Pleasant countryside - Friendly staff - Small bar and cafe on site - Eco Dishwashers (see below comments) at £2.20 per wash. Dislikes - Number of toilets insufficient for the volume of trade. Trough urinals resulting in unhygienic floor. - Site looking tired in places, for example, play area which is limited. - Bins area unswept with broken glass and rubbish strewn across the ground. - Installation of eco-dishwashers meaning that there is no option for handwashing cutlery using hot water in the single sink. Conclusion. If alternative options were limited then I would use this site but would prefer to shop around for alternatives. The site's facilities need to be upgraded to reflect the volume of users.

Just a few campers on site (mid week in March) so very peaceful. We had a very restful time. Lovely views around. Friendly welcome and the best pizza I have eaten in years made for us on Monday night. Very hot and clean shower block. Good flat pitches . Downside. Noisy road nearby and not allowed to use your own logs for campfires. Overall a lovely place where I’ll return .

My wife found this easily the best campsite in Forest of Dean- and we've visited nearly every one of them. The upkeep of toilets and site was excellent. They have an excellent bar and its equipped for sports viewing and animal watch! The owners are kind and understanding. He makes the best pizza for the weekends! There are no hard standing pitches I think but i found it well drained. There are some good walkways around there- some of the best down to the river. Its super quiet and an a great place to view the stars at night because of the absence of lights around there. ps Thank you so much for picking us up when our car broke down! And also for dropping me off to pick up a new one! My hour of need- not a friend would help but the owners of this site. thank you. Never forget kindness and hope to come back soon!

This was my first time here and I will definitely be back. This campsite has very generous sized camping pitches, stunning settings, clean toilets and showers (with very hot water) and the best pizza I have had in a long time, not sure what more you could ask for. We got chatting with the owners who were beyond accommodating and couldn’t have been more welcoming. The location is great with the amenities of Monmouth only minutes away. The cost was great value, inexpensive and a weekend of electric cost me 52p. Thanks for an excellent family camping trip. Can’t think of much on the negative side, If I was to be really picky, I would have liked an additional water outlet on the field but that was a very minor issue.
