Sercotel Ciutat De Montcada Hotel

Location- look on street view there’s your clue. A mass of concrete built next to a train station in a depressing area and our room overlooked industrial units… thankyou for the early morning electric plainer wake up call. The room felt like a cell. Unless your well over 5’ you may need help to look out of your window onto said units. (Possibly better views in other rooms?) It’s wrong to say all the Reception staff were rude but if I said 50% (we spoke to 4 different ones) think that’s pretty accurate. We had an early flight so arrived before the 4pm check in and wasn’t expecting to access our room. Gave our name was about to follow up with can we just leave our suitcase somewhere safe … didn’t get the opportunity. You are early you cannot check in was the warm welcome. We did try to fathom the train into Barcelona slightly confused we went back to the hotel to seek a little help. We apologised for not speaking Spanish but asked if he spoke any English? Why you don’t speak Spanish if you visiting my Country. Again, thankyou. Hotel facilities- think they were a secret! You can see the restaurant and bar but not given any info other than you need to pre book for breakfast. We didn’t, and always seemed to be empty morning and night so guess they did well keeping it a secret. That lovely picture they put on their website of the pool got no mention and bless as the poor boys stood in their shorts in reception found out doesn’t open till May. The upside it’s clean and the shower was hot.

The rooms are very old-fashioned and dirty. The glasses and plates at breakfast were also dirty. It was very disappointing and I can't recommend it. The duvets are incredibly disgusting and the bathroom has mold. All in all, it was very disappointing and the staff did nothing after references to the dirty rooms
