Golden Beach Guest House & Rooftop Bar

Staff Service: Guests consistently praised the staff for being friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The staff's attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond made many guests' stays more enjoyable and stress-free. The presence of staff at the front desk at all times was appreciated.

This small but friendly guest house was a joy to stay at for 13 nights. Our room was comfortable and clean and fresh every day. Our deal included breakfast which was a buffet with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, beans bread, a selection of pastries, fruit, yoghurt cereal, and tea/ coffee. The coffee is good as it is bean to cup and we don’t drink instant so although tea and coffee is provided in the room, I collected a pre breakfast coffee for our room each morning. The location is great as you come down the steps straight onto the beach, where there are a selection of bars/ restaurants and of course you can dine here too. Beach towels and a parasol are provided and you can also hire sunbeds and shade on the beach for €15 for a half day( this was as much as we needed!) There is a small supermarket about 5-10 min walk towards the ferry. The icing on the cake though is the staff, every single one of them. Being a small place I think we met them all! Guilherme greeted us on arrival and showed us where everything was and explained various things to do, and restaurant recommendations. He was charming and thoughtful throughout and he and his team ensured we wanted for nothing. There is a ferry into Faro about 15 min walk and a bus (16) that goes from outside into town via the airport. Although we didn’t get everyone’s names they were all stars, from housekeeping, to the kitchen who were in early to set up breakfast every day, and of course the bar staff. Our main interactions were with Tiago, Rui, Nina and sersu ( apologies if the selling is wrong and if I haven’t named everyone . That will be because I didn’t get a chance to ask not because they weren’t also great!) The BIG issue however is Faro airport arrivals. We were over 2 hours waiting to get through passport control with around 800 people infront of us. Do be warned, delays coming in can be up to 4 hours. Our departure was better because we paid to get fast track through security and passport control was fairly clear so we had no problems but we arrived early on the advice of Ryan air. Faro airport just does not have the staff to cope with the volume of people coming in, especially from U.K. as we are no longer in the EU so have to go through different channels.

Amazing location. Right on the beach! They need to update the window treatments. We were not able to close the darkening curtains. It was also a little strange that our room was right next to the kitchen and breakfast room!
