The location was convenient to go to both downtown Monterey and carmel. But our room remained dim even after turning on every light and lamp in both the room and the bathroom. The bathroom was also very old with the padding around the shower head exposed and the walls breaking down from all the moisture. The soap box in the room was also broken. Luckily there was a piece of soap by the sink. Overall the inn would be a place to stay if you were only in Monterey for a night, but if you are planning to stay longer, another place would be more comfortable.

I always stay at the Inn, when visiting the Monterey area. Great location, clean and comfortable beds. Service is also excellent. Staff always goes the extra mile when you need something. Very accommodating.

Great place close to the wharf, restaurants and shopping. Comfy bed, clean room. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely Inn right on the bay with wonderful views across the ocean and particularly of the wildlife. (Thoughtful binoculars in the room to enhance your views which are plentiful). Room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. Nice sitting area right by the window. Breakfasts bought to your room - pre ordered the night before. Adequate for our needs and always a bonus to have breakfast included. Free parking again another bonus as parking can be expensive in some hotels/inns. Lovely walks right outside the Inn with a plethora of restaurants to choose from. Ideally situated if you also want to visit Carmel which is a short drive away. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved the laid back vibe in Monterey and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We liked our room. However, there was deferred maintenance outside. Our screen in the bathroom was torn off. There were spider webs around property like it was not being maintained.
