Monterey Bay Inn

If you love watching marine life, you will love a sea view room at this hotel. We found the hardest thing, was leaving the balcony to explore the area! Loved watching sea otters, sea lions and so much bird life from the balcony- a gorgeous sea view across to the coastline. You can sleep with the patio doors open (if you enjoy the sound of the sea) or close them and all is quiet. Our room was super clean and charming. Staff were all friendly, very helpful and the breakfast delivered to the room was gorgeous- what a treat!! Would definitely hope to stay here if visiting again. Thank you Team Monterey Bay Inn for making our 40th anniversary extra special- enjoyed the bottle of rose fizz!

We rode the Harley up from SoCal and it was so pretty when we got there, we reconsidered upgrading to a room with a better view. We paid a little more and were given room 320. The view is gorgeous! We watched the sunrise, birds and sea otters. There were baby otters calling to their mothers directly below our room. Adorable! We were right on Cannery row so we walked to the local shops and dinner. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They took towels to the hot tub when we mentioned going. The hot tub on the fourth floor was amazing! Beautiful view, hot water and the jet settings were perfect. Everything was clean, cozy bed, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, the fireplace was lit in our room. It was wonderful. You fill out a card to hang from the door for free breakfast and when you’d like it. The fruit was delicious! We also enjoyed the croissants, yogurt and coffee. I highly recommend a stay here and if you’re able, get room 320. There’s another room like ours but I don’t know the number. They have jetted tubs in them. Ours overlooked the water.

Smelled horribly of mold and was dingy and dark too expensive and not healthy! We didn’t stay we left for a different hotel which was night and day.

Front desk was helpful and very friendly upon checking in. Our room was facing the water and had a gorgeous view. The complimentary breakfast was served within the time frame we picked so the coffee stayed hot, juice stayed cold. This was a great experience for my partner and I. We really liked how a beach was literally right next to the hotel, and cannery row was walking distance from us. Will 100% book with the place again.
