The staff is friendly, but the cleaning is subpar. We found several dark/black hairs in the bathroom, on the towels, and in the bed! This left us feeling unwell.
We received a "free" upgrade, but the bed in this room was already sagging/dipping. According to the manager/owner, the mattresses were only six months old. However, the mattress label stated 2023 as the production date. The new room wasn't much better; the mattresses are of very poor quality; you can feel the springs and they are incredibly soft. We woke up with back pain and had a short night's sleep.
Because of this, we ended up staying only one night instead of two and left early. Note that the owner charges a $10 per day service fee if you book through a third party. This isn't stated anywhere; the owner chooses to list his hotel on third-party websites, and the customer has to bear the costs. It's a complete mess!
This hotel is absolutely not recommended!

The room was a semi-basement. The driveway is just outside the window. Comparison of clutter and vehicle noise. The facilities are average for an Inn. The front desk processed check-in & check-out quite quickly.

I like this hotel very much. It's very close to the Old Fisherman's Wharf and the Aquarium. It's also very close to the shopping mall in the other direction. The price of the hotel is moderate. I didn't expect it to have breakfast. All in all very satisfied! The guy at the front desk was very warm and polite!

We really loved our stay here! Right off, the person at the front desk was very friendly and even gave us a free upgrade. Complimentary coffee in the lobby and the room, a refrigerator, microwave, and fireplace were nice amenities. Our room even had a distant view of Monterey Bay. The hotel is located less than a mile from Fisherman's Wharf, and we walked there in about 20 minutes. The condition of the room was mostly very good, but the shower head looked like it needed to be replaced and there was about a 5 inch crack in the ceiling over the bathroom sink. We would definitely stay here again on future trips to Monterey.

Did not like how the office did not open until eight in the morning. I feel like we should be able to get there early and have somebody waiting at the desk. Also parking lot was difficult to get around.
