A Gem
What a gem. We came here late in the evening, directly from the airport and thought perhaps we’d come to just a house. It truly is a neighborhood estate. As if it was in an Uruguayan architectural digest. 1. Location: about an 11 minute walk to the shops and restaurants and beachfront or a three minute drive. It’s also very close to the airport, but just far enough away that you feel you don’t feel or hear the airport noise. Great restaurants and little shops everything from the traditional Fredo to Garcia to Abra and a crêpe shop. 2. The grounds are spacious as are the rooms. The design is beautiful. 3. Staff are kind and professional. 4. I absolutely love their drapes and want to do the same thing at my home. 5. We have already booked our return for the night before we are leaving. 6. It feels like an old library, which it probably was given the name. There’s lots of common spaces that are just beautiful. 7. I don’t know about the eco-friendliness. There’s probably a lot more they could do. The breakfast is just a simple little Buffay. I wish they had had avocado and papaya. I wish they had had nondairy milk.
We did just head to town. I went to the place that I think is named obra . It is a bar at night and more of a coffee place in the day and I had a wonderful avocado toast. They had lots of options with indoor and outdoor seating. It was pet friendly as well.
