When I first viewed the room I thought I would give them a 5-star rating. For this hotel it really depends on what you are looking for. Because of mixed reviews, there were lots of rooms available, a great price and I had time, I decided to stop in and view a room. The good news first: The room was large, clean, and looked fairly new. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi was far better than what I normally experience. The staff were always friendly. For that reason, for what I wanted, this room did a good job and at a great price. The bad news. The carpet in the halls was dirty. The lav faucet dripped. The stopper in the bathtub didn’t work. When we asked about the breakfast and the prominent picture of waffles on a poster in the breakfast upon checking in we were told that the waffle maker had broken and the owner had chosen not to replace it. But otherwise it was a great breakfast. It wasn’t. Nothing looked that appetizing. Wife had raisin bran where she normally has a full breakfast. The “fresh fruit” was 2 “old” oranges. I worked late in the room and slept in. When she attempted to bring me breakfast up to me, which she has done for decades at hotels everywhere of all kinds with no problems, she was stopped. We had less than a roll of toilet paper and she was afraid we would run out. She asked for another roll. No. We have never needed to ask for toilet paper at another hotel. Ever. They put a $100 damage deposit down on your credit card or you must pay a cash deposit without a credit card. That was no problem for me. We have never damaged a hotel room. I was solicited in the parking lot. This is a problem they evidently try to stop but one you should expect. I think it comes partly from them renting out extra rooms to shelters according to other reviews. The lady who asked for me to help pay for 3 days she was overdue for a room there ( who knows if it was true) says she was put up there for 10 days and they locked her out when they caught her gone and she wanted to get her stuff back. Who knows? The pool was empty of water. I suspect it mostly is. The owners seem to be emigrants who employ lots of family and like I said are all nice. The level of maintenance and service does not appear to be lack of care or not paying attention. That is how, I think, they believe a hotel should be run. So it is what it is. Clean, big, newly remodeled room. Nice bed. Good wifi. Good price. If you can past everything else, and I could, this one might be for you. If traveling through and just needed a comfortable room I would stay here again. I don’t care about breakfast or much about the hallway. You might not like it at all.
