Overall, not a bad experience. Location was perfect. Good amenities. Clean, though, could use a fresh coat of paint, a lot of scuffs on the walls. Thankfully we didn’t have much noise at night, but I can see it being loud on the weekends. They do provide ear plugs and a noise machine. My only two issues- first, our view was brutal. We were on the first floor and next to the alley, which was full of garbage. We had to keep the blinds closed, very unpleasant. Second, the parking situation was a bit stressful. We ended up with a parking ticket (almost $100!) on our first night because we did not see the sign saying you can’t park on Drolet on Monday between 7:30am and 8:30am. It took us awhile to discover that was what the ticket was for. The sign is only posted at either end of the street, so if you park in the middle you won’t see it. You can get 24 hour passes, you just have to find the machine, there are two nearby. Type in the code PMR01. That took us some time to figure out as well. I do really wish Sonder’s app had very clear instructions as to where to find ideal parking, where the machines are located, and times you cannot park, rather than just passing that off to guests to figure out. They can still state it is not their responsibility if you get tickets or for theft, but just help your guests out a little.

Not a fancy hotel, but if you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Montreal, this is it. The room was very large, with amenities (such as kitchen and washing machine) that we didn't even use. The fact there is no staff on site was not an issue. I don't need them, really. The code system works fine. Clean, modern. Great location in the Plateau. Recommended.

Although the location is great - beware the 'disclaimer' that the units are 'prone' to noise. Although the building may have been an old printing factory they should have updated the windows when they made it a place to sleep. You are greeted upon arrival with earplugs and a white noise machine in both bedrooms which do basically cover the street noise, but both night sof my stay I was kept awake form 330-530 am by something like laundry machines on their spin cycle. Maybe the hotel has their own laundry in the unit above me? Who knows, but the hotel was completely unfazed - and told me about the noise 'disclaimer' - I think potential guests should be very aware this is a hospitality company that does not think noise is a problem - if is for you - I would stay somewhere else.

Excellent location. Stayed in a studio on the fourth floor. Listing says queen bed but it’s really more of a double. Spacious and well-stocked. Little kitchen has everything you need, including pots/pans, dishes, glassware, microwave and dishwasher. Couch is very comfortable and I had a big window with a view of mont royal. I got a great rate given the time of year. I read lots of reviews about noise so packed a white noise machine (iPhone also has one fyi) and didn’t have any issues. WiFi can be pretty finicky but someone came within 15 min to fix. I’d definitely stay here again though probably not in the summer when rowdier tourists are likely.

Great location right in the heart of the plateau. We had a single bedroom apartment that was large and comfortable. Kitchen was well provisioned if you want to cook with a dishwasher. The bathroom had a huge shower and the washer and dryer were new. Very clean both in the apartment and building generally. I messaged via the Sonder app a few times with very quick responses and delivery of coffee pods came very quickly. I was very impressed given its a self check-in and out building. It was very useful to have the luggage store access up until the evening of our checkout.

This place was simply put... outstanding. I had a one bedroom that was roomy, very clean, had only the necessary dishes, cookware, pieces of furniture, etc. The building was secure with an elevator and back up supplies... just in case. As you can see from the pictures... no false advertising. I will be looking for Sonder rentals before any other search for all my upcoming trips. I am already booking our next stay in Montreal!

THINK TWICE IF YOU WANT A RELIABLE ROOM I booked a stay, excited to get some work done in a lovely neighborhood. I was not happy about the check-in which required biometrics and passport scan, but completed and was ready to go... Then they cancelled on me! I tried multiple times to contact customer service and they could not give a reason or remedy it. I had to rebook in a neighborhood I really didn't want to stay in because with so little time left there was nothing in the plateau. The customer service was abysmal, and eventually hung up as I demanded they escalate it (they said they would have the manager call me back in 48 hours... it was hours before check in!) I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST ATTEMPTING TO BOOK - maybe it will be okay, maybe their AI will decide to discriminate, it is not worth the headache with so many better hotels and airbnb owners who can actually tell you if there's an issue. They told me I could book under a different name and ID which makes me think this is an error that they can't solve and not a real 'flag'. I have an anxiety disorder and it has really messed up my travel to have such a stressful situation occur mere hours before check in. I am starting my trip on a sour note, having to stay in the heavy tourist area, not what I wanted but at least the hotels there are professional.

What a miserable experience. Sleeping was impossible. Street noise until 4am, the creakest bed frame in Canada, and this fun little quirk where you can get AC in the bedroom unless you keep the door open, so light streams in at like 5am. Multiple situations where the door locks malfunctioned. Took at least three tries on average to get in. And if there is a power outage (which there was!) you can't get in. Service was hard to get, and when they did show up, they were dismissive of issues & offered more expensive options. Sonder is a bad corporate AirBnB covered up by a trendy logo. Will look for a real hotel, or even a real AirBnB next time.

It's easy to be good when things go well, but the real test is what happens when things go wrong. This is where Sonder Le Guerin falls short. I've stayed three times at Le Guerin, but have no intention of booking again. The first time was good. The flat was comfortable, quiet, well equipped and in a great location. My stay was good enough for me to book my next two stays in Montréal as soon as I got home. It's the second trip that went wrong. Firstly, I arrived ten minutes before check-in time after an unusually quick passage through YUL. The door was locked, and there being nobody present on-site, I had to call to get access. By the time they'd sorted that out, the door had opened itself anyway. A minor inconvenience, but a taste of what was to come. Once in the flat, I found a broken blind and a broken toilet seat. These were quickly repaired, so again, just a minor inconvenience. What really irks is the following. At some point mid-stay, I got to the flat to find that the door would not open. After half an hour on the phone to Sonder, they were able to open it remotely and let me in. I was assured that it would not happen again. But it did happen again, and it continued to happen again for 24 hours before they moved me to a different flat. During those 24 hours, I spent over one hour standing outside my flat unable to get in, and ran up a considerable phone bill since it turns out that Sonder's call number was not covered by my North America pass (my phone contract is European). When I got home, I received an apology, and the offer of 100CDN as compensation. One hundred Candian Dollars doesn't quite cover the phone bill, but it was nevertheless a gesture. So far so good. However, the 100 CDN came with strings - it was not cash, but a credit to be used against a future Sonder reservation. Nevertheless, I was ready to forgive and forget at this point, so asked them to apply it to my third reservation. I received no reply until I sent a reminder ten days later when I was informed rather curtly that the credit could not be applied to an existing reservation, but that I would have to make a new reservation in order to use it. The third visit went off more-or-less OK. A couple of niggles in both of the flats we occupied, but nothing that would have led me to boycot the place. To come back to where I started, it's easy to be good when things go well. Unfortunately, things did not go well on my second trip to Le Guerin, to the extent that I risked missing the very thing I was in Montréal for since I could not get into my flat at a crucial moment. Things do go wrong, and when they do it's what happens next that matters. A genuine admission of fault accompanied by appropriate compensation can go a very long way. Unfortunately, these things were in short supply from Sonder. I do not expect to be using my 100CDN credit.
