Spicers Clovelly Estate

It was a lovely experience. The staff are all lovely and the estate is breathtaking.

Can’t really fault this hotel. Staff great and the ambiance perfect for quiet time and opportunity to re charge. Arrived and didn’t leave for 2 days. The only slight gripe was the bathroom skirting was dirty and needed a wipe and the bathroom grout needs attention; it detracts from an otherwise amazing product.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is in a lovely location and minutes from the shops and cafes in Montville. The staff, without exception, are all very pleasant and strive to make your stay enjoyable. We had booked the Montville House suite. Our room was in Montville House, a separate building opposite the main house. The room was down two flights of stairs and was an open plan bedroom/bathroom. To call it a suite is somewhat misleading but at least it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, no complaints. Dinner however was extremely disappointing. The limited choice menu was exactly the same each evening and sadly the food was average, if not mediocre. We certainly expected better for the price charged. The first night one of the four entrees was unavailable. The second evening it was also unavailable. The third evening it was still unavailable and also one of the main courses and one of the four desserts were also unavailable. Our choice therefore was very restricted. Now management may think this is acceptable, on such a limited menu, but we certainly didn't. Had we not booked and paid for dinner bed and breakfast we would most certainly have gone into Maleny or Montville to eat. We had been really looking forward to our short break but sadly we were extremely disappointed. The hotel is fine, if you just want bed and breakfast, but dinner is to be avoided. Will not return.

I had a mixed stay. The good? The staff are lovely overall. The property & gardens are beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. The bad? Unfortunately my room wasn't ready at check in time, which I usually wouldn't be upset about apart from having paid a high rater due to it being holiday season. Skeleton staff was to blame (due to the holiday season) but in my opinion if you're not able to accommodate guests don't charge them top dollar, OR limit the number of rooms on offer, OR at least call the guests in advance to let them know the time their room will be ready, given that you ask the ETA of arrival. I did receive a glass of bubbles on the house due to the inconvenience and I certainly wasn't upset with the front desk agent who was very apologetic as this is more a managerial problem. Once I did get access to my room (90 minutes later) I discovered I didn't get the room type I booked. I got an accessible room, which was one of the categories of rooms on offer at time of booking. I don't like accessible rooms so I chose the standard guest room. If the only option was accessible I would not have booked to stay here. This may be an ******* issue rather than Spicers issue however I highly recommend calling ahead to ensure you'll get the room type you've booked.

A beautiful place to stay in a scenic location. The grounds were spectacular and the Long Apron restaurant was lovely. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the bathroom, with spa bath, was fabulous. But their biggest asset is their wonderful staff!

Beautiful reach g stay with attentive and friendly staff

Charming property and staff. Very comfortable. Easy access to Montville and Maleny. Lovely grounds and views over the lake if you don't mind a walk.

Husband took me away for a weekend (2 night stay) at the very relaxing Spicers Clovelly Estate. The Atmosphere along with the wine and all the staff were amazing and definitely a memorable experience. We enjoyed the fire pit with a serving of petite fours instead of a birthday cake.

The review is short, simply due to words can't describe properly, the experience. Don't balk; cease delaying a visit - it's a MUST attend. Comfort, class, professional attentive staff, food & drink to never forget, wound together on one amazing property. We are still amazed by it days later. Extremely highly recommended.
