Moorea Sunset Beach

This was a beautiful place and our apartment was about three minutes walk to the beach. There is a lot of tropical vegetation and well-kept trees on the property. We loved watching the sunset and sunrise every day. We even observed the night sky from the beach one night, though it was partly obscured by clouds. There is a long pier from which you can watch very interesting fish and even small sharks. The apartments upstairs have a lovely large porch with a six person glass table and two lounge chairs. The bathroom had some nice decorative details and the whole apartment was clean and white. We didn't have a car here and were able to walk to a grocery store and other places. A hotel serving dinner is nearby.

Great location, just as pictured. Staff were very friendly. There’s a choice of two small grocery stores with 10-15 minute walk, one to the left of the main entrance and one to the right. One on the left had a larger selection. Across the street is a new art gallery, cafe, bar that is very nice. We chose not to rent a car, spent the week soaking up the quiet and relaxation of the beach lagoon. Swam and snorkeled off the beach. There seemed to be plenty of activity options available for those that wanted to do more. We arrange transfers to and from ferry through Moorea Mahana Tours. They were reliable and provided good service. Felt safe in the whole area. Beachside bungalows had roll down doors over the patio which was great for added security but also allowed for us to leave without having to close up the slider doors as the roller doors allowed a small breeze to still come through while being secure when out. This definitely made our will return list

Let's get something clear from the start: you can't see the sunset from this hotel. And none of the rooms are on the beach. There is beach ACCESS (a short stroll). But if you are picking looking out your window and seeing and hearing the ocean in the pictures here, you're in the wrong place. You can't. I'd only recommend this place for budget-minded travelers that have access to a rental car and want to cook at home. Otherwise, it barely qualifies as a "hotel." There is no maid service, no on-site food/breakfast, and a reception desk that closes at 5 pm. Our room was on the second story of what Americans know as a Motel 6 style. Very basic IKEA-ish furniture. Very odd layout (referenced repeatedly here), which can be problematic (see below). The TV had one English channel (Fox News, really?!) and no directions on how to use the remote. It overlooked a "garden" that was a few trees and bushes with a dirt road thru it for cars that were going to the bungalows on the beach. Zero privacy. Rooms were clean upon arrival. Unfortunately I became ill here. So I spent the better part of two days trying desperately to get sleep. There are chickens everywhere, crowing all thru the night (not just at daybreak). I've been to other islands where chickens are commonplace, but there is zero attempt here to control them so they won't wake up guests. I slept with my noise cancelling headphones on. The next morning at 8 a.m. there was drilling right outside my window, as the hotel decided that this was the ideal time to start a repair project. Since I hadn't slept (see chickens), I called. Two hours later, they stopped and told me they were finished. But no. Again the next morning, the same exact thing. I tried to explain, politely, that I came to Moorea to relax, not to be on a farm or in the middle of a construction project. The receptionists were nice but sadly ineffective. The closest place for breakfast was at the hotel next door, which has a nice beachfront place. But it's crazy expensive ($12 for a glass of juice; $30 for a breakfast, $45-$50 for lunch). It's a hike on a dark road to anywhere else for dinner, so rent a car to be prepared to shell out big bucks for a taxi (It cost us $60 for a taxi to get here from the port). If you are going to Moorea, do yourself a favor and find a place where you can enjoy the ocean, actually see it, and not be penny=pinched.

Stay at Hilton i was robbed of 2800 in cash in a backpack I left unattended in my locked room. We went to dinner for one hour in the morning I realized the money missing I went to check car when I seen police and realized 4 other rooms were robbed only of cash and no damage to the hotels doors amazing no one from hotel said a word other then there not responsible

This place is the perfect location to enjoy one of the most beautiful beach of Moorea. Walking distance from the apartment (there's bungalows too), it's a little resort, feeling almost like home. There's a kitchen so you can make your own coffee and meals. The only improvement point will be to offer a few dishwasher pads (1 or 2) and coffee pods (2 or 3) so you don't have to go to the office to buy them. Other than I highly recommend this place.
