My husband and I spent four restful nights here. It was the perfect location for us to access our boat tour from Whittier, visit Seward and drive as far as Soldotna on the Sterling Highway as he fished the Kenai. This is an extremely well-run, family-owned property with amenities that have become rare elsewhere -- daily maid service, excellent linens, friendly but unobtrusive service, a really good onsite restaurant for dinner, and a complimentary breakfast that is a true, made-to-order breakfast with full sit-down service, not a continental buffet. We stayed in a lakeside cabin with the most beautiful view (even on rainy days) that we've ever had -- and we have stayed in a lot of places with lovely views. Seeing a bald eagle, hearing the loons from our porch and watching ducks added to the experience. I would caution that the other accommodations here may have some traffic noise, as the property is on the highway, but our lakeside area was blissfully quiet. We would highly recommend.
