Angel's Rest Motel

We stayed at Angels Rest on a recent trip to QLD. A great place to stay, our unit was so clean with great kitchenette. The owner, a lovely man, was so helpful. While we cooked our own food due to food intolerances, the meals on offer smelt delicious.

After a huge day of packing and cleaning and driving it was a fabulous relief to pull into the Angel’s Rest hotel. The owner was super friendly and helpful and offered to order in dinner from the Moree Indian Restaurant which was the restaurant I’d chosen to eat at by trip advisor reviews. We settled ourselves and our dog into our lovely clean well appointed room and dinner arrived promptly in 30 minutes. The butter chicken, tikka masala and garlic naan were absolutely delicious. Our ute was very secure in the locked central car park. Slept well on a good bed. It’s five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from us as we head back on the road. Thanks folks

There are dozens of motels around the hot spring baths in Moree but not many that are pet friendly. So the Angels Rest Motel on Warialda Street was a great find for us. Proudly three-star, the hotel was well run, quiet and convenient for the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre round the corner and only 20 minutes walk from the centre of town. We had wanted to walk Harry through the riverside parks but there were lots of “No dogs” notices around, which locals seemed to ignore. Our room was large and reasonably comfortable, though a little tired. It was dog-friendly and had a curtain shower that would be a boon for disabled guests. The TV was quite small and there weren’t enough power outlets in an age when multiple digital devices need charging overnight – including Harry’s dog tracker. But otherwise, the price was in line with surrounding motels and the manager seemed always at hand and helpful. The neighbourhood is a bit down-at-heel but so is much of Moree itself. I’ve never heard anyone describe Moree as charming, though it is a useful place to visit for anyone wanting to see the real rural Australia. In summary, a positive stay.

Clean, friendly and well located. Good value for money. Yes it is dated and a spruice would be good, but these are fully SELF CONTAINED rooms. Across the road from the Artesian Aquatic Centre. All things considered, a comfortable place to stay........ Oh and did I mention pet friendly.

Great location, value for money, very clean and comfortable and onsite manager and staff are wonderful. Rooms are dated but so clean and tidy. Over the road from the artesian pools and close to the railway station. Highly recommended. Bed is super comfortable

We called pretty late hoping to get a room on our way up to Queensland. They were incredibly accommodating and didn’t make it seem like an issue at all, which we really appreciated. Rooms were very clean and the place was great for a quick stop over.

The Angels Rest Motel is well located, right beside the artesian pool and close to town. It is clean and tidy and good value. We decided to order dinner from there Indian menu, what a good decision, that butter chicken was the best Indian food I’ve ever experienced! Do yourself a favour and try it.

At this little motel we got what one may expect from a country motel, at an exceptionally good price. However the real strength of the place was its staff who were more then helpful in assisting with the parking of our camper trailer. All members of staff were accommodating lovely people.

We had been denied entry to Queensland, and had driven back to Moree at 3 am. We slept in our car near the Main Street. We needed a pet friendly motel, so went to The Angel’s Rest about 8.30 am. We were tired and upset. The staff were truly angels ! Within fifteen minutes we were in a room and catching up on sleep . Nothing was too much trouble for them . We were able to have our dog with us.....we were able to get laundry done....there were cooking facilities. We cannot thank them enough !
