Spent 2 nights in Moree on a 6 week driving trip through Australia. Decided to give the Royal Hotel restaurant a try based on the recommendations of a couple of the locals. Glad we went. Not knowing what to fully expect from a pub restaurant, we went with our expectations somewhat lowered. We were pleasantly surprised. Had the calamari for the appetizer and shared the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and salad. The chicken was very moist and cooked perfectly. The garlic butter sauce that went with the chicken was really tasty also. Beer was cold and the bartenders and kitchen staff (when picking up the food) were very polite and accommodating. Please give this spot a try if you are ever passing through Moree.

Well have been complete my to the Royal for many years whilst travelling through , it seems it’s changed hands and not for the better, the local staff member yesterday was really helpful , the foreign staff members were downright not very hospitable, would look At you waiting fir a beer and just walk Away, there beer pouring skills reminded me of us kids growing up pouring at a keg show , I nicknamed one staff member Mr Whippy One bar member would talk and the other 2 just looked at you like you were a problem It was a very bizarre afternoon with the locals , I do hope the new management get to see what is going on here before there business falls apart can’t comment on the meals but I reckon it would be like Faulty Towers if the beer serving circus is any indication I really hope things get better as I understand the same owner now owns all the hotels in Moree

Bed smelled of sweaty old men. Pillow had me thinking some sweaty old dude was sleeping next to me. Shower backed up in morning and solids started to come out of drain

Great food and super staff who were friendly and very helpful and welcoming. Food was great pub style. We ate Barramundi and roast which were very good. Ok would definitely return to this pub. Thanks for a relaxing meal after a long day driving.

We had an overnight top on our road trip and really enjoyed our meal, steaks were just right, but the motel room was really overpriced. It was a small room without a few amenities which would have been fine at $90 or less but at $140 has left a bad impression of the place. As another review mentioned the bathroom has been renovated but our shower screen leaked and it would have been handy to have a hand towel and a face washer as the basin was not in the bathroom. There was no bedside table to put your cuppa, glasses, phone, book etc on, 1 thin pillow each, no hairdryer. All small things that can be done without but at $140 I think can be expected. Stay elsewhere!
