Central Motor Lodge

This is, without doubt, one of the best motels we've ever stayed at. We were in a 1-bedroom unit (#12) for a 5 night stay. It smelled beautiful. Everything was spotless, and everything we needed was in there. Our rooms were serviced every day, and each time we returned it smelled beautiful all over again. The bed was a firm but comfortable king size with a warm duvet. We'd brought winter pjs with us after looking at the weather forecast, but we needn't have done so. The unit is double-glazed and the heat pump very efficient. We were snug and warm. There was a sofa and an easy chair, a table with chairs and a coffee table. All these furnishings were clean and comfortable. There was a safe in the wardrobe. We were surprised and delighted by how quiet the motel was. We slept like logs. I can't recommend this place more highly. One of the owners told me they like to keep a high standard - and they have succeeded in this. Well done, and thank you for having us.

Everything about the room was lovely EXCEPT the bed and bedding. All of the pillows provided were too high for me and I had a sore neck in the morning. The bed slumped to the middle. Oh and the tea selection wasn’t very good.

Room was very clean. Included a small kitchen area with teas and coffee. Property was very clean overall. Manager was curt , but pleasant enough. No A/ C in room

We were not expecting much given this is a motel, but we were pleasantly surprised! The lady on the desk was so friendly and helpful. The room had a separate seating area and the room looked newly renovated. The kitchen was fully stocked and you could cook. The appliances etc looked new.

Friendly & helpful. Really helped to have a simple stovetop on top of microwave to cook with. Especially relieved to have the large grocery store open on & around public holiday vs Matamata which had theirs closed. Very walkable to eateries & bakery. Cute town.

The staff were really supportive, especially since we had to request for an additional night due to the bad weather. They adjusted with what rooms were available for us.

Clean rooms, nice quiet area, lovely hosts. Would highly recommend.

Very close to the town centre. close to all amenities and dining. Nicest staff. Very welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
