A great choice
We had a wonderful stay. The staff were wonderful. The food very tasty. The grounds of the hotel spacious and beautiful. We especially enjoyed playing bowls on thier bowls lawn

Stayed for 2 nights in the Swiss Village and was very impressed. The views and scenery are fabulous and the grounds are kept immaculate. The staff were all very friendly and the evening meals in the restaurant were excellent - some of the best ostrich I've eaten. We didn't get the opportunity to do the walking trails around the property as the weather wasn't favourable our second day but the property provides trail maps with walks of differing distances and toughness. Highly recommended stay.

The five of us all had a lovely meal here and our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. Three opted for the baked potato with a creamy mushroom and bacon topping accompanied by a salad which they all enjoyed. Another had the massive burger and chips and I chose the Ploughman's Platter which was huge. The items were beautifully arranged on the plate and I especially liked the ostrich pate. A couple of things which I think would improve this serving would be crusty bread such as baguette or ciabatta and some biscuits to accompany the cheese. The little pots of jam were a bit of an odd accompaniment for a Ploughman's 🤔 The setting of this Inn is so beautiful. Well worth a return visit.

Während unseres Südafrikaurlaub sind wir als Familie einige Tage im Eight Bells Mountain Inn gewesen. Der Aufenthalt in diesem wunderschönen Gartenparadies mitten in den Bergen war einzigartig schön. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Essen ausgezeichnet. Durch seine Lage, ist der Ort sehr gut geeignet für Tagesausflüge in die Wüste, als auch an das Meer. Selbst für Kinder gibt es in dem riesigen Garten mit Pferderanch und Tennisplatz sehr viel zu entdecken. Wir geben Eight Bells Mountain Inn die Gesamtbewertung "ausgezeichnet" und können es weiterempfehlen.

We did not stay here. We pulled over to do some hiking. The reception staff was very helpful getting us set up with the hiking information. The fynbos there was amazing! So many beautiful flowers and a lovely view from the lookout. They let us borrow walking sticks as well. All things we didn’t expect when we pulled over.

Our first and short visit to this hotel was enough to say that we must get back. It’s a beautiful, restful and scenic hotel. We were perched in a Swiss chalet, Bern, which had a beautiful view. Food was excellent, as was the service, providing some old fashioned “country hotel” atmosphere.

Very friendly and warm welcome at reception. Owner told us everything about the history of the place. Very interesting! Rooms are very basic but very clean and although it was very cold there was warmth in the room with additional blankets. Huge lounge with fireplace. Supper was also very nice. Breakfast delicious!

This visit was as part of a group of 27. We ordered when we sat down. We were fortunate to have an efficient waiter and our food arrived quite quickly. Others had a bit longer to wait, but there was no rush. It's a lovely setting, and a great drive in our classic cars.
