If you want to stay at a place that provides a room with mould, dirty cutlery, the soggiest pizza you’ll ever eat in a restaurant and a bar so noisy that you won’t get to sleep until 2am, then this is the place for you!! Definitely do not recommend if you have children, or just prefer going to sleep at a reasonable hour. Property itself is extremely outdated and in dire need of TLC. Do yourself a favour - spend the few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.

Had dinner here one night. Food was excellent. The place is a bit dated etc as are many others on the mountain but the food was delicious. I had the fettuccini prawn tomato chilli dish which was just perfect. We also had the soup of the day which was literally the best pumpkin soup we’ve ever had. Kids chicken and chips as expect except were more fish shaped pieces than nuggets but same same! Staff not so smiley but that’s the only complaint. I would recommend for a place to go for dinner with a group or family for sure.

Awesome accommodation, really friendly staff with great service. Very accommodating with our luggage while checking in and out. It was also the best bar on the mountain and the food was delicious.

Amazing staff and great location within walking distance from the main slopes. The pub a**osphere is the best on the mountain and the food is incredible. I’d highly recommend this to anyone of all ages with plenty for the kids. The rooms were also spacious and very clean.

Great a**osphere in the main bar area and the food was also fantastic, everything was neat and tidy and the staff made sure we were all looked after, would highly recommend that anyone looking to stay with friends and family make it this place.

Great rooms for the price, thriving pub a**osphere and as close to the village as you can ask for! Along with great food and staff! Couldn’t recommend more for any stay as there is plenty of family amenities as well and lots to offer for a young person

The hotel is quite old but clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant and bar on site. It is close to the village and has a ski run right across the road. It is quite cheap compared to other accommodation. We have stayed here three times, however it has been 10 years since our last visit. Previously it was mainly families and now there are still families but a lot of young people. The bar is open late and there is a lot of noise past midnight. I couldn't sleep until the bar shut due to the noise. If you want to party and stay up late this is the place for you but if you want to get to sleep before 1 a.m this is not the best place to stay. Probably has more of a back packers feel.

I feel compelled to write about my recent experience at Alpine Retreat. My experience upon arrival was the receptionist, Sylvia, being pulled in all directions (as 5 pm is the busiest time). She multi-tasked admirably while giving us a pleasant reception and relating all of the features, as well as local suggestions. The guy in their Ski Hire, Dan, fitted out my granddaughter with snowboard boots, but also gave her a lot of snowboarding hints - as she is a beginner. Even the bar staff all seemed to do the extra bits they are not being paid for. Everyone was very helpful and went the extra yard. Very impressed.
