The property was convenient to walk to town. Breakfasts were good and the grounds were very pretty. The dining area was nice and looked out on the gardens and pool. There is a path to the back of the property that conveniently leads to downtown, which was great, but the actual path was a bit treacherous. It is uphill, uneven and at night only 1 light comes on to guide your way. I believe you can take a golf cart but we liked to walk.
We booked the Highwaymen room because we wanted a view of the lake and sunsets as advertised. Unfortunately, the trees have grown so tall across the street that there is literally no view of the lake at all. there was a busy road and traffic noise in this room as well. mattress has a concave area in the middle, which made it very uncomfortable, so we slept with our heads to the bottom of the bed. room was outdated with old wallpaper. older but clean mismatched towels. no countertop space in the bathroom only a pedestal sink.
For the price we expected more.
