Dear Travellers what can I say about this place that hasn't been said already. I've been to Mount lavinia 25 times, spent well over 2 years of my life there and stayed in many Guesthouses, but this place ticks every box and more. After only a few days I damaged my Phone, with help from Management they had it repaired and I was able to use online banking and stuff. Well you would hope that was my Glitch for my Travels, wrong!!!!! A week later after scraping my Leg I contracted Cellulitis, this was very worrying, more so being abroad. I was resigned to the fact I must attend Hospital, it was getting worse, then Sam and Steph suggested to go see there Uncle who is a Doctor, he issued a Prescription for heavy duty Penicillins. Well unbeknown to me Steph is a Qualified I.C.U. Nurse from Wales, so off we went by TUK TUK to the Pharmacy where she purchased all necessary Dressings and ***** and began Nursing the infected areas. This continued for many weeks until I was better. After going to Malaysia, I returned back to Mount bay for another 30 days and eventually extended a further 7 weeks and returned back to U.K.April 2026. And may I say what a complete privilege it was staying there and meeting you both and Staff. Planning my next trip roughly Xmas/New year. I'm very conscious that Sam likes Amber Leaf Tobacco and Steph likes Cheddar Cheese, these will go a long way to the top of the VIP list.❤️

Great place to stay on the beach front. The in-house restaurant has an array of options and really delicious dishes. There are also many other restaurants nearby. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom has good hot water. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We stayed 4 nights initially and returned for another 3 nights as we were very happy with our stay. Highly recommended the Mountbay

We booked this hotel and we are so pleased we did. It has been recently renovated so everything is new and has a new feel to it. Its so clean, comfortable beds, hot water showers and we had a stunning view of the beach sunset from our Private balcony. There is also a mini lounge on both floors for the guests to use. The staff were friendly and looked after us very well. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended place to stay in mount lavinia. Although there is a train track to cross to get on beach. The train noise didnt affect us as they didn't run overnight and the beach was so easy to get too - only a few steps from the front door!! Book your stay now. You wont regret it !
