"We had 3 nights at Harmony in a room with no window, but it did not feel claustrophobic at all. We did have trouble finding it due google maps playing up and we ended up at the sister hotel further up the hill. Thankfully, one of the owners ran up the hill and met us to take us to the correct one
Entry to the hotel is a pain when it pouring down with rain while trying to input your details for the QR code. But this was clearly detail in the listing descritption and previous reviews had mentioned this.
A huge help would be to to put a larger sign identifying the hotels location. See photo with circle around the name…. Very easy to miss.
During the stay, it was very quiet and extremely clean in possible the best location to old street. Literally 30 seconds away. Walk a little bit further and theres a 7-11 and family mart across the street.
The wifi is w10/10 so very good for digital nomads. I highly recommend harmony and would definitely stay again."

"Cute little place very close to the end of the old street. It is very tiny and there are a lot of stairs so I recommend packing light. The toilet is inside the shower and the sink faucet sprays too strongly. The view is great, we can see the mountain and sea, with the temple at the foreground. Overall, highly recommended!"

SSglobangLove the vibes! It’s spacious and comfortable, able to accommodate 4 adults! Owner will msg you via WhatsApp on the day for check-in as they will need to know your mode of transportation to Jiufen. They will pick you up personally on the day of arrival to advise you the direction of their place.
Do note that some of their rooms are not connected together. For my case, I’ve booked 2 rooms. My room and my mom’s room is about 5 mins walk. Might be an hassle if you are traveling with your family. It wasn’t an issue for me as we’re able-bodied. This is definitely not for everyone especially if you planned to bring pram and many luggages. Please travel light here.. the stairs to your room are uneven , wet and steep.
Owner provides simple breakfast and deliver to you in the morning. Very warming..

CCham HuiHIghly recommend this homestay in Jiufen, which has crazy gorgeous view of the whole area from the seemingly endless window pane. It is like waking up to a postcard view.
The space is big with two queen size beds which were super comfortable.
Location is great especially if you are coming with luggage as it is a short walk from the drop off point at the elementary school, with no steep steps, mostly a gentle slope, to access the unit via their backdoor. From their front door, it leads directly to the main Jiufen shopping lane.
The owner is also very friendly and helpful.

JJulie YoshiokaThis place is very neat and brand new,, Clean and very nice view of mountains. The view was excellent!
We hailed a cab to get there from the airport,but the driver got lost even with GPS. Since Jiufen is located on
high mountains with very narrow roads, we felt a bit car sick from 1 hour and 30 minutes of the ride at the end.
We, however found out the hotel was actually located on very convenient and easy to get by next day!
The outside spa was not that clean, neither even was not warm enough to get in, the weather there was very cold!
The breakfast was worthy to have, because around there no place to eat unless you take a ride to get down to Old
Street place. We felt a bit chilly inside of the room, it could be the cold weather at this time ( in March?) One thing very odd was the length of the bed in the master room, even for me my feet could touched the end of the bed!( i am 5’2”.) Overall not bad, liked their clean and staff were very friendly. If you got bed knees, watch out those enormous steps every other corners!

JJoan177I originally thought that there would be free spa massage experience twice in one room. After asking, the spa service staff (short hair) said with an embarrassed face that no, I was also very embarrassed... I hope the service staff will not let customers feel this way next time , this part was a big letdown.
Everything else was good, and the room was well stocked, but at this price, the number of drinks in the mini bar should be based on the number of adults in the room.
The outdoor slippers in the room can be taken away as gifts. I was shocked when I found a centipede in the hot spring pool. I made a fuss and told my husband. My husband said that it was inevitable in a hotel on the mountain, so he asked me not to be a guest, ha! During this period, the room service staff also gave my daughter a bear doll, which was so cute!
The appetizers and main meals were delicious, but the desserts were not.
The orange juice for breakfast was freshly made. Because we were traveling with a five-year-old child (the Western restaurant can only be entered by those over 8 years old), the hotel helped us move the meal to the room to enjoy, and also moved the dining table into the room, so we would not eat too much on the coffee table. Embarrassing, the service is very attentive!
There are separate public baths for men and women, and you have to walk some distance to the basement.
The spring pool is clean and coarse salt is provided in the shower area for exfoliation. There is a peculiar smell in the steam room. The oven uses far infrared rays which is very good!
The open-air hot spring is really completely open-air, not semi-open-air. When you bathe, you feel like a monkey bathing in a hot spring. Hahaha, it is a very enjoyable and novel experience. There is a house across from the women's hot spring open-air hot spring. I saw a person tidying up the vegetable garden opposite, and I was worried that the other person would look over with a telescope. According to my husband, the open-air hot springs at Men's Hot Spring are mountains and rivers as far as the eye can see, with no homes.
That’s probably it! Overall, the housing experience is satisfactory, but there are also many shortcomings.

GGuest UserThe environment is very good and the room is beautiful, but the toilet is open and has no door. If you want to poop, the whole room will smell. If you are not a single person, everyone will have to endure the smell. The sound insulation is very poor. Although everyone is already treading lightly, there is the dining area at the door of the room. The sound of boiling water for washing hands early in the morning, the sound of taking cups, plates and forks, and the sound of opening the refrigerator... It is far away from Jiufen Old Street. It's far away. It takes 5 minutes to drive. It's not recommended to walk at night. It takes about 20 minutes to walk. It's mainly too remote and there aren't many cars passing by during the day. But the environment and rooms are really beautiful and it's very suitable for checking in.

AAnonymous UserIt's a bit confusing to walk up from Jiufen Old Street, but there are signs to help you find it. It's a little distance from the old street and requires a bit of climbing. The soundproofing isn't great. Although breakfast wasn't included when I booked, it was provided and was quite delicious. The room wasn't big, but the view was great, and it was generally clean. However, the comforter was just a sheet tied around the blanket instead of a duvet cover. There was a TV, and the environment was very nice. For this price, I would highly recommend it.

Ffat daddy ngLocation was good. Just a 5 min walk to the old street. There’s also a bus stop just outside where you can easily take bus (abt 10 mins) to Ruifang and back. From Ruifang, you can rent a U bike and cycle to Houtong or take train there or to Shifen.
The house and rooms were big, probably because we rented the entire apartment. Had a big living room space.
Only grouse is that the towels provided were too small… they were more like hand towels rather than bath towels.

馬馬瑞安Upon check in there are too many staff during our check in in front desk but no one dare to ask for assistance unless you are the one will initiate it, i have been in different hotels before but this kind of service in the front desk is common i just don’t want to address it’s too obvious, they need more training maybe., one guy is very well in speaking in english is the one can show up hospitality the other is i don’t know, the room is narrow but we still find way to make ourselves comfortable since we will be staying for just a night enough to rest. The breakfast is good the staff is very good we understand the language is a little bit complicated but we appreciated the effort to communicate we love them for that they are much more good having interaction with their guest unlike in front desk. The sauna is out of order during our stay so we didn’t feel it’s kinda value for money since most of the facilities is out of service.

Mmaa atsi@The customer service was extremely poor. A guy in his 30s, who introduced himself as a part-timer but claimed the owner left him in charge – something a service professional usually wouldn't say. He then said he couldn't speak Japanese, which was odd. Also, the journey to the inn involved an endless mountain road (though paved) and there were stairs to climb down to the inn itself. He mentioned a curfew but then admitted many guests ignore it and he doesn't bother reprimanding them. When my ********* friend joined me at the inn, he didn't say anything. I can't shake the feeling that he judges people based on appearances.
