I went to see the train market, so I stayed in the best hotel over there. The service is very good and the food is delicious. There are only big bugs. There is no taxi. We stayed one night to celebrate my birthday. The management upgraded us and placed a “happy birthday” card nicely on the bed when we checked in! So thoughtful! The resort is very well maintained, pet friendly and excellent service! Breakfast was well presented and nicely designed Cafe by the river to enjoy your afternoon coffee and snacks! I recommend Asita Eco resort for Bangkokians for weekend retreats! Only 1.5 hours drive from the city.

This place is divided into 3 zones, the hotel, the restaurant, and the cafe. However, our visit was only on the cafe. The cafe is an open-air stylish bamboo building adjacent to Mae Klong canal. Here, we had some cakes, ice creams, and their signature drink ”The Buffalo” which is the combination of 3 ingredients, cocoa at the top, milk at the middle, and Thai tea at the bottom. After the cafe, we wandered around to see 2 buffaloes (the black one and the white one) that inspired their owner to build up this place.

Working my way south from Bangkok. My first stop about 3hrs south by van was Mae Klong. I came across this family run hotel/resort along the Mekong River. I was greeted by the most friendly and helpful owner. There are bungalows, family rooms and single rooms. I stayed in room 10 in the main building. It was very clean with a flatscreen tv, aircon, a small fridge and two single beds. They have a restaurant on site with a sunset view of the river. I have to say if you ever come to this place you should stay here. They also gave me a ride to the highway for me to catch a van to my next destination. Thankyou Siriporn.
