Oh! What a wonderfully located home-stay and that too at this price! We visited this place in the 3rd week of June'23 and stayed there for 3 nights. Panchachuli House (PH) is located approximately 3km before the Mukteshwar "round about / gol chakkar". You have to take a right on to a beaten dirt track after you cross Chirping Tales cafe and Shyam Restaurant; it is approx 1km from that road. Hence, the place is very quiet and allows for a "dark sky" environment (which means excellent star gazing opportunity on clear moonless nights). Further, PH is built on the side of a mountain, facing east, and so it offers an excellent sunrise view (on clear days). Further, all the rooms have large windows and overlook this beautiful view. The property is a mix of brick and wood, well lit and has ample couches and chairs for a quiet solo-time or for gossiping with friends/family. Mr. Kamal Mehra (the owner) also stays there in the property ***** with his family and maintains an orchard of plums, apricots and apples, and hence he had kept a large fruit bowl filled with these fruits (we didn't get apples though, as they hadn't yet riped). Food was good, like home-made food, and is made in the large family kitchen. Mutton curry was excellently cooked. Final vote to Pogo, their extremely friendly GR+Lab mixed breed.
