We vist Techno Classic every year and have stayed at Kampgens hof many times. It is a traditional family run German hotel and the owners are fantastic, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a short stay. The rooms may be a bit dated but it adds to the charm of the hotel

My second visit: Friendly welcome in Ruhrpottmanie • quiet, somewhat remote location of the clearly outdated hotel with very good train connections • clean rooms with lots of wood and strange bed linen • between 8:30 and 9:00 you are involuntarily busy with housekeeping activities awakened if you don't put the key in the cylinder, you're welcome to do so in person. A Do Not Disturb sign is missing • Totally confused TV channel presets; through stubbornness then found the private stations starting at program slot 303 • It is best to tear open the shower gel sachet first with dry hands; Shower in the tiny bathroom with extremely high water pressure - but access was a bit sporty; annoying shower curtain • 140cm wide bed with the softest mattress ever experienced
